BIOS version F7 has been updated and running in my PC for 24 hours now, stable and steady.
This update includes those security fixes and CPU stability fix in F7e.
This is what I found after the BIOS update from F6 to F7:
- IA CEP and GT CEP are defaulted to Disabled if you leave it as Auto. So, you no longer need to manually go and disable them, can just leave them as Auto.
- Recommended Turbo Power Limits is Auto. Intel POR can be selected right after the BIOS flashing. After that, the option will be greyed out and not selectable. Auto will take care of Intel POR. The other option is Enabled, which, if you don't make change to the sub-items below it, will be the same as Auto.
- I can't remember there is SR-IOV Support in previous BIOS versions. Found it in F7 and enabled it. This function is for virtualization performance.
- As usual, after BIOS update, Windows Hello will need you to reset your login PIN.
Minor bug found:
There is one Setting page which I have favourite items in it, the star is not shown on the left of all the favourite items of the same page. Anyhow, those favourite items appear in the Favourite page.
Only 1 particular Setting page behave like this. All the other Tweaking and Setting pages are showing the favourited items correctly.

TLDR:
USB Drive formatted FAT32. Change the BIOS file to a .bin
Long version:
New build, wanted latest bios and kept having problems. I'll list the steps to make it work below. First error I got was "No Disk Drive found" when I would click on Q-Flash. Second issue I ran into was the Q-Flash not seeing the BIOS file.
-
Download the latest bios from https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z790-AORUS-ELITE-AX-rev-10/support#support-dl (No idea if the bios changes from each version of the Aorus Elite so be sure you select the support page for the mb you're updating)
-
Unzip the BIOS files you downloaded and rename the BIOS File to .bin. The file downloads as a .F#, the new motherboard was reading the file as a ".F#" file instead of a .bin
-
Get a USB stick > Format it FAT32 > Copy the contents of that folder you downloaded to the USB stick
-
Plug the USB into the computer with the bios your update(any USB port) > boot into bios via the DEL key > select Q-Flash(F8)
-
Click on the picture of the USB stick > navigate to the BIOS file > double click the BIOS file > Confirm the install
-
Computer restarts a bunch. It will take 5-15mins depending.
I will never understand why it's so hard for manufacturers to create instructions that actually tell the user what to do.
My new board came with bios F5e. This was XMP stable with ram kits at both 7200 and 7800 mt/s then I updated to F5g and literally nothing was stable and I had to run JEDEC. Now they dropped F5 and I’m back to stable again.
What memory timing features are they missing with in these updates? There are so many new features with Auto now.
Hi guys I was on f3 with XMP enabled with my gskill 7600 it was working rock solid stable.
Decided to update the bios today and im getting errors and blue screens the memory is not stable at all anymore on the same settings, i think maybe the new bios is pushing the ram just that little bit more somehow and it cant handle it. Unless im missing some setting guys?
This newest bios has something updated in the SPD RAM side of things maybe something there?
Anyway would appreciate some comment on this is anyone else has a similar system
