I’m completely reworking my wardrobe rn and want to actually save up to buy some nice pieces. I usually just thrift, but I was trying to find some shops to buy something new for once.
Affordable to me is like $50 or less for one piece of clothing.
Most places I found so far are pretty bad quality (based on reviews).

It depends on what exactly you're looking for ($50 tops? dresses? pants?) but realistically, things with frills, ruffles, and lace are more labor intensive, and subject to taste, so at lower price points they're more likely to only look good while the quality is not there. I mostly shop secondhand but I do still check out the shops and run my hands through things to see what's up, and you can have decent luck in places like Target, H&M, and Old Navy. Occasionally, you can also find things on sale with the more mature, mall brands like J. Jill and the like, but a lot of the cute stuff I've run into lately >$100 has felt depressingly cheap and plastic-y. I know a lot of places will have biannual clearance late June and early January but I think it's probably worth checking out r/FrugalFemaleFashion .

I would stalk sales and sign up for emails from your favorite femme stores like Love and Lemons, Reformation, Sezanne, MNG, LoveShackFancy and so on and try to stack coupons and deals. Target collabs are another surprising option for very high-femme stuff. While they aren't going to be super high quality, they often have cute, very femme details. Finally, Anthropologie. If you go to the in-person stores, you can find very inexpensive items and the stores often run an additional % off sales that online does not.
