So how much does GitHub team cost after one year?
I have received this comment: Hi Lior, The prices mentioned in my previous reply are also valid after the first year. The discounted prices mentioned on our website apply to annual Team and Enterprise subscriptions alone. Let me know if something else remains unclear. Thanks, Bobbie GitHub Support octocat So it seems it stays intact. More on reddit.com

GitHub pricing and protected branches
The teams plan is for organizations. If you were to upgrade your personal account, it’d be to Github Pro. Protected branches is a feature in Github Pro. It’s $4 per month and that’s all you’d need. When logged into Github, press your avatar in the corner and then select upgrade. When you select your personal account, you’ll see the Pro plan. You can see what the pro plan includes here: https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/learning-about-github/githubs-plans#github-pro More on reddit.com

Question about pricing
GitHub also has higher priced tiers. As I find it, dollar-for-dollar, GitLab is a lot more feature rich compared to GitHub. We've also been able to modify GitLab's source code for our needs and submit those changes upstream. Something that you definitely cannot do with GitHub. Also GitHub's self-hosted Enterprise sucks so hard. There's no comparison for those who need a self-hosted solution. Also think about what the price means compared to what you pay developers. If the platform saves you even an hour per month of developer time, it pays for itself several times over. More on reddit.com
