Giza Cotton Bedding: What you need to know and 6 recommend Giza sheets - FLandB.com
January 3, 2025 - When you see too-good-to-be-true “deals” on a Giza sheet set, know that it is not the genuine article. Mid-market manufacturers have found a loophole that allows them to label a product ‘Made from Giza Cotton' when that cotton hasn't necessarily been grown in Egypt. These companies take Giza seeds and grow them elsewhere. Without the fertile soil and strict oversight, this cotton is not genuine Giza. Whether you love the crisp feel of percale sheets or the soft romance of a sateen weave, you’ll find your perfect Giza sheet set at Fine Linen and Bath.

Comparing My Pillow Percale and Giza Sheets: Which is the Better Option? | SoffiPillows
True Egyptian cotton sheets must be made from extra-long staple cottons like Giza 45-87. Shorter cotton fibers don’t have the same softness and durability. Like percale, Egyptian cotton sheets typically have a thread count between 200-800.

11 Best Percale Sheets of 2025 - Reviewed
February 28, 2025 - They’re the softest percale fabric we’ve ever tested. They also have a crisp, airy feel reminiscent of bedding in a 5-star hotel. (The brand provides linens for many luxury hotels, and we’re not surprised—again, the price.) But what makes these sheets worth close to $2,500 for a single fitted sheet, single flat sheet, and two pillowcases? They’re crafted in Italy from high-end “Giza 45” Egyptian cotton, which the brand says is grown in a small designated area near the Nile delta and hand-harvested to preserve the fibers.

Percale vs. Giza Sheets: What's the Difference in Quality? - Knowing Fabric
July 14, 2025 - Giza cotton, grown in Egypt, provides longer fibers for smoothness and lasting softness, giving you a luxurious, silky touch. Both offer durability, but Giza’s quality often lasts longer, while Percale is more budget-friendly.

Gaza sheets after washing are pure wrinkles with no chance of removing even with the iron on high and with steam. I was totally misled! I am so disappointed! I won't even open the second set! ... October 16, 2023 -

Please forgive me for what I am about to say. I know it’s wrong and shameful.

MyPillow Giza Dreams sheets are the best sheet set you can buy for under $100. Someone gave me a set and I turned my nose up at them and sent them to my Airbnb. Jokes on me because they’re my favorite Airbnb sheets. They don’t wrinkle. They’re nice and crisp but silky out of the dryer.

I said what I said. 🤷🏼‍♀️

r/Bedding on Reddit: St Geneve Giza 45 Sateen sheets vs others sheets?
October 5, 2023 -

I'm currently eyeing the St Geneve Giza 45 sateen sheets and I'm trying to compare them with other luxury bedding brands like from Sferra, Matouk or Frette. I’m curious about the Sferra and Frette Giza line since they seem comparable but are much more expensive than the St Geneve sheets. There’s also the Matouk Gatsby line that is percale cotton that seems great as well. In addition, I’m unsure if their slightly lower offering (Sferra Milos and Frette 600TC sateen sheets, Matouk Nocturne) is comparable to the St Geneve Giza 45.

I'm unfortunately only able to get swatches for the Sferra Giza and St geneve Giza so I’m not able to compare them all well. If anyone has tried the St Geneve Giza and compared them to the others or found something better, can you let me know?.

Now, I want to preface by saying that I haven't tried St Geneve's offerings since my local linen shop doesn't have them, nor Frette, but I can say that Sferra's Giza 45s are above and beyond pretty much anything most brands have as their 'premiere' top-shelf lines. There's just no comparison. At all. Matouk's Gatsby is nice but not as nice as you'd want at that price and pretty much all other brands that I tried with comparison to Sferra Giza 45s just could never compare or stand out as much as they did. Now, I've heard that Frette comes darn close to it with their Ultimate set, but I think even that brand falls just a tiny bit short of Sferra. St Geneve is not a bad brand and they're definitely a pretty primo one, but I think of them kind of like a Peacock Alley but perhaps a tad nicer. That's kind of how much of their products are like, and they definitely have more price-value offerings than most luxury brands, but their stuff never seems to be at the same level as the upper-level brands like Frette and Sferra---it's more about affordable luxury, if that makes sense. All of the brands and their models that you've listed are amazing for luxury bedding, but if you want top-shelf stuff I'd stick with the Sferra Giza 45s. The top one is the Giza 45 Luxe but it's insanely expensive and not for the faint of heart (or the working poor). The Giza 45 percale is the softest percale on the planet, but it definitely is pretty thin, so that turns off a lot of people. If you want a thicker sheet the Sereno would do pretty damn well for you for a heavier (but super-soft) percale, and if you want a more budget pick the Finna is pretty awesome overall but it won't come close to how soft the previous percale options are. For sateen the Giza 45 Luxe and the Sateen are A++ in terms of softness and are as good as you can get, with the Luxe being heavier and softer (I believe) and the Sateen much lighter but still unnaturally soft; the Milos, likewise, is the sateen version of the Sereno in that it's a much heavier and super-soft set, with the Giotto as a pretty decent budget pick for sateen. I'm unsure how most of the brands you listed compare to the Giza 45s from St Geneve, but I would expect that the Giza 45 from St Geneve would be comparable (hopefully), though it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Milos from Sferra is softer/better than St Geneve's highest offering Giza 45. The Sferra's are just that good and, for me at least, managed to eclipse all of the comparable luxury brands next to it, even their highest offerings. It's pretty insane (they must have an exclusive contract with the best Giza cotton growers in the Nile River Valley because something is in their sauce that nobody can match, short of perhaps Frette). Hopefully this helps you out, and while I have no doubt that St Geneve makes great stuff for the most part, their focus is mostly getting value for price rather than the highest quality that can be achieved on this earth. That's at least my observations of it from other users and their thoughts about it/impressions. If you have any more questions then feel free to ask---I'll do my best to help you out! :) And shoutout to u/Just-Another-007 for tagging me :) I appreciate it!

I haven’t tried the St Geneve Giza, but I have the st Geneve avorio pillowcases and they’re lovely (but they are silk). I love the Sferra Giza sateen. We also have the Finna, which is nice, but I prefer the Giza sateen. I haven’t had the chance to try the Matouk gatsby, but I’ve heard good things. I don’t know anything about frette, sorry!! u/SorcererLeotard is usually brilliant on all things bedding… 😁
