But FWIW I don't allow glass tables (or shower doors) of any kind in my home because they can and do shatter, whether because of something heavy put on it (or some idiot sits on it, or a child), or something hot, or for no apparent reason at all. And there is no such thing as cleanup because while tempered glass generally shatters into chunks like automotive safety glass, tiny shards still get embedded in the rug and floorboards and literally go everywhere, get into your furniture, the soles of your shoes, your socks, and the soles of your feet, where you can feel but not see them and they are hard to remove with tweezers. Believe me, you don't want to brush your bare foot across a tiny sliver of glass stuck in your floorboards from two years ago and leave bloody footprints all over your place.
