How can I upgrade to glibc 2.36 or later on PopOS 22.04 LTS?
Not at all, realistically – your libc is integral to basically all software, and can't be upgraded without extensive updating of the rest.
Is it possible to upgrade to this version of glibc on PopOS?
Hence that doesn't work.
One of my favorite applications (Anki) now required glibc 2.36 or later for the application to run.
that is a false statement, to the best of my knowledge. You seem to be using a binary that was built for a different platform on your platform; that needs the libc of the actual platform it was built for. Anki itself doesn't require a specific version of glibc. It's just that you're trying to run an incompatible software build!
You should use the anki package of PopOS!, if such a thing exists. If that doesn't exist, check whether there's a containerized solution – for example, a flatpak (you can get these from flathub.org).
Answer from Marcus Müller on Stack ExchangeHi all, Does anyone have a reliable guide for updating GLIBC to 2.38? I'm trying to run shadPS4 and it's a requirement for the emulator. I know it can be dangerous and brick your OS so it would be nice to get a PopOS vets perspective and guidance. Thanks!
I need glibc 2.36 for an application, but pop os doesn't update beyond 2.35. I guess it is so since they have decided to stick to current release until their cosmic DE release. So, can I upgrade glibc myself to 2.36 manually, and should I choose to do it so?
Is there any info as to when Pop!_OS will switch to 6.5 Kernel?
