Can you access account settings on your current device in order to update the configured number? If not, you may be limited to doing account recovery to regain full access. Do you have a working recovery e-mail configured on the account? If not, and with an out-of-date phone, it will probably be impossible to prove ownership of the account. More on reddit.com

My Google account, which I use for all kinds of things from commenting on YouTube, making purchases on my Android phone etc, uses my Yahoo mail address I've had since Yahoo upgraded storage to 2 megabytes, double what Hotmail had.
I do not use Gmail with that Google account.
I also have a Gmail account which has a @gmail.com address, used only for email.
The problem I have is whenever I need to do a clean install of a web browser, I cannot remember how to get logged in to *both accounts* simultaneously so that going to gmail.com takes me to my @gmail.com email while everything else in the googlesphere uses my @yahoo.com address with my google account.
How does one end up in this situation? When you get involved with Google stuff prior to the 2004 launch of Gmail and resist getting a Gmail account for quite a while, yet before Google started attempting to force all Google accounts to have a gmail address as the primary email.
I have this split setup in Chrome and I want it back in Firefox.
Why can't going to gmail.com simply present a normal login where people enter their gmail.com address and password *so they can get their email*?
Instead Google wants to try and force me to add Gmail to my Google account and make my Yahoo address an alternate on the account, or create a new Google account with Gmail.
My answer is NEITHER! I just want to get into my Google-account-less Gmail that I already have.

At the very least and kind of frustrating as well is that account is currently logged in on my phone so I can still pretty much use it and I know and email and password, but when I try to log in on other devices like my laptop, I can't. I regret using that 2-step verification thing cause now the only way to log in is if I can enter the code that they would sent to that phone that I no longer have. I'm using a new one with a different number. I don't know what to do and google support is not being very supportive right now. Is there any way I can contact someone from google?

A few months ago Google decided to want to verify my login into the account i knew the password to with another device that is currently logged into that account. No device was so i was locked out and I tried for 2 weeks to log in or get support (people said there is no support so that was a wakeup...)After writing it off, now i tried again and was only prompted to provide a recorvery email.Sometimes i guess just pray and be patient for G mercy to may come find you. Made me realize google owns my account effectively, not me.
