I’ll start off right now: web design is my least favorite kind of design. I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg to make a basic website.
I am starting the process of opening my own business, and I need a basic website. Currently won’t be selling anything on it, so it’s really just informational at the moment.
We purchased our domain through GoDaddy, and I’m unsure what to use to make the website itself. I do not want to use GoDaddy’s AI builder, and I was never comfortable using WordPress (which they collaborate with).
Here’s my question: those of you with website creating/hosting experience, what’s going to be the best way to go about this? Do you recommend just fighting with WordPress, or am I better off hiring someone to build it from scratch?
I have no clue how to set up a website on my own, it’s fairly expensive to have done, but this offers an AI generated option that is customizable and sets up an online style for product.
Just wondering if anyone has tried it and what site some pros and cons

My cousin wants a website for his home remodeling business. It's just a glorified business card, static site, to add legitimacy to his business and provide pictures of past work as well as contact information.
People always seem to recommend squarespace for this, but at $15/mo vs $10/mo for godaddy's website builder, I figured I'd ask if anyone had any experience with it.
Hi! I am starting a freelance business and wanted to create a portfolio website. I impulsively bought a domain name from GoDaddy bc I thought GoDaddy was a reputable source since I have seen their name many times. However, it is forcing me to use their AI generated website, which isn't something I wanted. I only wanted the domain name. I was planning on developing my website on my own through VSCode and GitHub. After doing more research, it seems like GoDaddy is not a good place to purchase a domain. What do I do? Is there a way that I can keep the domain name I bought but still create my own website? I don't want to use AI and I need customizability.
i never used godaddy before, and i hate the ai feature. I just want a site builder that uss blocks like the rest. someone please help 🙏
Hi! I need some advice. I recently retired, but I plan to consult in the field I worked in for the past 40 years. I will have a very small clientele in consulting, but as a side gig, I would like to produce a blog that has a subscription and introduces people to me. I would like to monetize the blog. I currently host a blog on substack, but it has devolved from a writing space into another political minefield of social media or so it seems to me. So, I need a website host that is secure, multi-dimensional, allows me to use a domain name I bought on godaddy, and is good for someone with no coding skills.
I went to godaddy and they have a new product that seems to be included in the price of the domain. It seemed to rely on ai and it was annoying af immediately, because it came up with a bunch of random pictures and no clear way to change them. I might not have a lot of coding skills, but I still don't want to be a generic ai site. I read a bunch of other threads on here, but none seemed to answer the multi-dimensional nature of what I want and don't want...
Thank you!
It seems like I can only use GoDaddy site editor.. I can't use ftp or anything? Basically, I just bought a domain and hosting from GoDaddy. I first used the AI website builder to get a basic website published. It worked, my domain doesn't load to GoDaddy parked page.. I then tried to use ftp to download my website but it isn't there? I can access my files through ftp but shouldn't my website files be in the public_html folder? I can see other folders like etc, logs, tmp but I can't find anything related to my website...
TLDR: website files (index.html) where are they?
GoDaddy has just released its new AI website builder tool for WordPress called Airo Site Designer. You can see a demo in this video.
I'm not sure what "AI" really does here except create some filler content. It seems like any regular WordPress site builder, but probably with fewer tools and less control.
This is designed to lock you into GoDaddy's ecosystem, which defeats the purpose of using WordPress in the first place.
I'm looking for godaddy website builder reviews because I have some doubts with which one use, I checked also Hostinger and Wix website builders.
My cousin's Carpet business needs a website. It's mostly just to show off his work and give people his contact information.
A lot of people say that Hostinger is good, but GoDaddy's website builder is less expensive. Hostinger costs $15 a month, but this costs only $10.
Would someone here like to try GoDaddy's builder? I want to know how simple it is to use, especially for people like us who are just starting out. How good is the help if you get stuck?
Thanks!
Hi guys. I have a renovation business. I choose go daddy to buy the domain and website builder ( i pay domain and 160 $ / year for basic marketing ). After i read on reddit and saw many bad reviews and its really hit me. Is there any way we can stranfer domain to another hosting and that mean i lost the money i pay for Godaddy right ? Also i need some hosting good at SEO 👍🏻 because i dont really need complicated website. Tks guys
To give context: I have more or less zero experience with website development or design, and I’ve avoided anything related to computers and design most of my life. I’ve done minimal editing with divi editor in wordpress, and that’s about it.
My girlfriend is a dancer, and I wanted to create a website portfolio for her. I made a nice website on square space in the free trial, but here’s where I get confused.
So I can have access to the square space editor plus the domain for $16 a month if I pay annually. However, if I do GoDaddy and start over, I can get the domain for $47 for 3 years and a website editor for free. I really don’t want to be paying $16 per month. For GoDaddy, are there going to be other things that I will need to purchase after this $47 for 3 years? I worry that I will need to buy additional services that in effect will be like the SquareSpace $16 per month. If that’s the case, I’d rather just use square space bc it was super easy and I already did it.
Does anybody have any additional information that can clarify this for me? I want it to be budget friendly, as the website isn’t really generating cash it’s a supplement to a resume. Thanks
Basically just told my customer to find a professional. We are supposed to be the professionals. LOL. #Godaddyairofail
My cousin is starting a business fixing things around the house. He needs a simple website to show off his work and give people a way to get in touch with him. It's been said that Squarespace is pretty good, but I see that GoDaddy's website builder is only $10 a month, while Squarespace's is $15 a month. A lot of people use both GoDaddy and Squarespace. What do you think? Is GoDaddy a good website builder, or should we go with Squarespace?
OK, I know this sounds crazy.
Yesterday I was using Godaddy to search for dot ai domain names. 3 separate times when I hit a really good available name, if I went to see if other extensions were available for the same name and then came back to make the dot ai purchase... it was gone!
It just felt like somebody on Godaddy's end was taking advantage of my searches... and snatching them from me when I entered them into their system. The last name where this started to happen was with "antispy dot ai" (damn good name I thought).
Here's what I did different and here's what happened:
1). I entered it into the Godaddy domain search and it came back available!
2). This time, I left the domain in the search results screen WITHOUT CHECKING FOR OTHER EXTENSIONS.
3). I opened a new window and went to "Domains dot com" to check on the other extentions (antispy dot com, antispy dot net, etc.).
4). while I'm at Domains dot com, I use their domain search box, just to verify that antispy dot ai is still available... IT'S NOT!
5). Holy shit! here we go again!... so I jump back to godaddy and hit the purchase button... it let's me buy it... BUT!... it's been in review since yesterday. I think there's a good chance They'll take it back from me, claiming some system conflict or some shit.
Anyway, I also lost several other really good "dot ai" domains to this shit! Please tell me I'm just losing my mind and Godaddy would never be this shady.

Hi-
What’s your experience using Godaddy to build your website and/or SEO ?
I need a website up asap.
I know SEO takes months…how does one really know they’re doing what you paid for with SEO back-links ?
I painstakingly built the website I wanted over quite a few hours. I never, ever want to deal with that website builder that much again. I realize now that what I built was on the “Coming Soon” page, but the thought of using the AI website builder actually makes me want to kill myself. I can’t deal with any more shitty AI, nor another round of trying to replicate the site I built onto the “full site”.
Is there any way I can transfer the website I built on the “Coming Soon” page onto the “full site”?
When I first signed up with Godaddy, I didn't know the first thing about website building, SEO , etc. It seems the more I have been learning, the more I think I made a bad choice. I recently found out that Godaddy Website builder doesn't have an option to submit my sitemap to Google Webmaster. So I called Godaddy and they said "Well the good news is we do it for you". This has me worried as that sounds like a load of crap. Is there anyway to manually submit a site map and what do you guys think about Godaddy? Alternatives?
