I bought a domain from GoDaddy last year for like 200 rupees for one year. Now it's time for renewal and they're asking for 6k rupees for renewal! Is this fair? (My site doesn't even have any traffic). Are there any alternatives to GoDaddy where I can get reasonable prices?
I noticed that the Godaddy Reseller Program is $107 per year in the USA (https://www.godaddy.com/en/reseller-program), but when you switch to the Godaddy India site (https://www.godaddy.com/en-in/reseller-program), it's only $10 per year... why is that? Can I just purchase the India version and save the extra $97? I am based in the USA and will be selling to clients in the USA.
Why is it that changing your currency to INR (Indian Rupees) gives you a major discount? It works on everything... New/Renewal domains, Hosting, Email renewal, M365 subscriptions, etc. Just the other day it was prompting me to renew my M365 email for $90 USD. I changed my currency to INR and they ended up charging me 4,166 INR which is about $50 USD. The charge that came through on my bank reflected the discount of $40 off. Why is this a thing? Just curious.
