r/godaddy on Reddit: GoDaddy support asking for customer ID and pin
February 11, 2024 -

I know they ask for ID an pin, but they send like a link where you have to enter those detail(I just did that yesterday). But today, the person on the other end is asking me to share those details in the chat itself, which I thought was suspicious and on asking why, he replied with that "As per the latest update we donot have the option to send the form in watsup".

After I gave him that, now he is asking for the authentication code(2FA). So like is it okay for me to share the code with him?

Change your GoDaddy account password or call-in PIN #
Unlike many online accounts, GoDaddy allows your password to contain spaces (but a space can't be the first or last character). So, you can type a sentence as password! Remember that capitalization matters. Finally, retype it in the Confirm new password text box, to avoid typos. Once done, add a password hint. Optionally change your call-in PIN number (see explanations in the bonus step), and click on the green Save Changes button at the bottom.

r/WindowsHelp on Reddit: 24H2 Broke PIN on work account through GoDaddy
April 27, 2024 -

I have a ThinkPad P16v Gen 1 running Windows 11. Our company's domain, email, and Office 365 are through GoDaddy. I know the account showed on the login screen as a work account. I used a PIN to login to the laptop and I can't remember if I set a password or not (it is not the GoDaddy password).

After the update last month to 24H2, I got the error 0xd0000225 "Something went wrong and your PIN isn't available." I was able to shift->restart and uninstalled the update. Everything was fine after that and I was able to login like before.

I got an update yesterday that did the same thing. I have tried uninstalling both quality and feature updates, but one re-installs as soon as I restart the computer. I removed the NGC folder in safe mode and that didn't work either.

When I go to login.microsoftonline.com and enter my email, it redirects to my organization's sign in page (GoDaddy). I have the correct password for that and can see my OneDrive files. Is there any way to reset the laptop login without resetting the laptop completely?

Edited to add: I am still on 23H2.

Use this method to enable the built in administrator account with no password and log in with it and then see if you can fix your account.

r/webhosting on Reddit: GoDaddy PIN pain
December 25, 2014 -

I'm helping out some guys with one of their web sites, which (unfortunately) is hosted by GoDaddy.

I used to use them years ago as a domain registrar but have long since moved onto Namecheap. As a result, I still have my own (and very unused) account over there.

Anyways, the 'guys' granted me access to manage their domains via a 'delegate' button in the GoDaddy GUI, and this showed up on my account. . So far so good.

I access their webhosting Control Panel and need to contact GoDaddy for technical support (their SSH is kind of goofy).

I get on the line with GoDaddy (phone calls only from what I can see), give them my username and 4 digit pin and tell them I am looking for technical support for this delegated domain.

Turns out that GoDaddy can't help me until I provide them the 4 digit pin for the other account.

WTF is up with that? GoDaddy should be able to see that I've been delegated this access (it's their GUI after all) and to provide me support without having to provide someone else's 4 digit pin.

tl;dr - Give me CentOS, give me Ubuntu, give me (standard) cPanel or whm, but damn, why GoDaddy!
