Uh. Don’t listen to comment one. The keyword planner works but the numbers are estimates. Look for keywords with a click through rate of 4% or higher. 4% and above are often transactional, which means people are clicking to act. 10-100 volume is super super low. I try to look for a list of keywords that can generate at least a few thousand clicks a month. Then you decide how many you want to buy. The target ROAS is super tricky. The KW planner has NO WAY to know how well you will convert, which is why you put your conversion percentage in. If you don’t know, guess a 3% conv rate. You should target max conversion within your budget and your budget should be enough to buy at least 500 clicks. Preferably at least 500 clicks a month. At this minimum level you will see if you can sell your product. 500 clicks per month at 3% conv rate will take 3 months+ to get to 50 conversions. That’s a LONG time but your paying for those clicks so most new business won’t try. It takes 50 conversions for Google to begin proper conversion targeting, so you see how a certain volume of clicks and sales is necessary to start the machine. It’s a fantastic tool but no one will teach you how to use it. I had to run hundreds of ad tests to learn on my own. All you need is one good keyword if it has enough volume and it converts. Look for quality over quantity, especially if you don’t have a large budget. Pick 2-3 keywords for each of 2-3 ad groups. Write ads with those keywords in the ads, especially headline 1, and put those keywords on the landing page, especially in headline one. Then make the conversion process as smooth and easy as you can. Then sit back and don’t touch anything for 14 days. At the end of 14 days you will have some data. Take those numbers and try to improve. If you can’t afford ads, save until you have $1,000 a month for three months and try. God speed. Answer from gdaily on reddit.com

Is Google Keyword Planner Actually Free?
Yes it's free, but also yes you have to spend money to get more accurate results. It's free to generate keyword ideas and get a range for search volume, but the more accurate numbers are given to accounts that are spending with them. For example, I just looked up the same keyword in both our manager account and in my non-spending personal account. The non-spending account told me the average monthly searches for this keyword was "1k - 10k" but in the manager account, it says it's 1,600. It's great for generating keyword ideas - I think much better than the paid tools; more variety and keywords I'd never expect. But if you're only seeing a wide range for search volume, it isn't very helpful in making your final decision on what to target. In the example above, I might pursue that keyword thinking it has potential, not knowing it's actually on the very low end of their range. More on reddit.com

How much spend do I need to unlock the accurate Keyword Planner results?
There is no spend threshold for accurate results. The reality is that keyword volume is only a small data point to consider. There are times, we have had keywords with 10 searches a month drive 30% of our conversions due to high quality score, high conversion rates, and low competition. If you need to, use Google’s data and compare against data from SEM Rush. Calculate an average and then use that as your monthly volume benchmark. More on reddit.com

r/PPC on Reddit: Google Ads Keyword Planner to determine a campaign budget?
October 9, 2022 -

Hi,

How do you use Google Ads Keyword Planner to determine a campaign budget?

Creating my first PPC campaign strategy and realised I don't really understand how I can use Google Ads keyword planner to find my optimal monthly budget.

In my "keyword plan" I have multiple 100-1000 volume keywords, even more 10-100 volume keywords, but when I go to the forecast tab & select, for example, I want 8 ROAS, the system tells me I need a daily budget of 2.4 EUR, which is super low.

Can I really trust this tool to get a ballpark when forecasting using new accounts?

Yes you can calculate the budget you need if you know approximate CPC and CPA for your industry. Just look up google ads KPI benchmarks for your industry then calculate backwards from your goals. Lookup media planning on YouTube for an overview or something.

r/SEO on Reddit: Is Google Keyword Planner Actually Free?
January 30, 2024 -

Hello, So I am trying to do keyword research so I know what keywords I can use in my first blog. I don’t have a lot of money so I can’t use popular tools semrush. I heard that Keyword Planner is good and free. However, to get to Keyword Planner I have to create an add and input my credit card information. I’ve seen other Reddit threads saying that you can pause the ad as soon as you create it. However, these threads say that you have to pay money in order to get accurate search results. Is this true? Thanks in advance!
