Every time I have a specific question, Gemini is dead wrong on the answer, and covers up links to sites that have it right. It's almost always because it returns an answer that sticks together key numbers or facts, but does so incorrectly. It's like asking what 3+2 is, and it finds a site that says 3x2=6 on it and assumes that the answer is 6. More on reddit.com

I wonder how many people there are out there that trust google ai search summary to be accurate and continue on without ever knowing it was wrong. I'd imagine this happens quite often... But for those same people, how would seeing an incorrect answer here be any different than, assuming there was no summary, they simply navigate to the first link in their search results and saw an incorrect answer there? Welcome to the Internet. You should always confirm your sources and not believe the first thing you see on the internet. It's so ridiculously bad and it's a shame on Google for having not pulled the feature until they improve it. It's such a huge step backwards. I completely disagree. In my experience, it has been amazing at summarizing knowledge that can be gleaned from various sources. I have not yet noticed any incorrect responses from the summary at the top of my search results. Even if I find something questionable, I still click on the links that are provided to see more context. And again, for me, it still checks out The only incorrect responses I have seen are the screenshots I see posted here in a couple subreddits where it seems like some people just worded their query in an odd way which resulted in an odd answer. Or the frequent posts showing how it is bad at math, which is a well known problem that still has not yet been resolved.
