Apologies for the wordy title. Let me explain:
I bought a new LG QNED TV a couple of weeks ago and I noticed that when I signed into the Youtube app, I would get an email and Android notification alerting me of a new login, and would log the login on my Google account's Security page. It did this any time I logged into the app after a factory reset.
However, when I simply log out and then log into the app, or deleting the app then re-installing it then logging back in, I would get no such email or Android alerts.
Can I safely assume this is by design and the reason is because Google/Youtube recognizes the TV in between logins, and a factory reset on the TV basically clears that recognition and goes back to being a "new" device?

Its any new devices that log into account. You can go into your Google account settings and see a whole list of everything that has accessed your account. You can revoke, or force log in, for any of them if you wish. I'm curious about maybe a Windows computer access via Chrome, then access via Edge, will it alert as different? notsure 🤷

Hey all! I am receiving dozens and dozens of Google Security Alerts for random email addresses. The emails from Google are legit but I am not sure what is happening. I have probably received 100 of them so far today and all for email addresses I have no association with. I have already changed my own password and have the correct backup/2FA setup.
"We noticed a new sign-in to your Google Account on a Windows device. If this was you, you don’t need to do anything. If not, we’ll help you secure your account."
There is an option to Check Activity or Disconnect the random emails from my own. What's going on?

Let me get this straight- you are receiving security alerts from Google that AREN'T your email address? Are they addressed to YOUR email, or to the one listed in the security notice? Are they all from the same domain name or a series of (probably) random names? My initial research confirmed my hunches that it's spammers who are looking to find low-security/hijackable accounts with known credentials. They are abusing google's policy to add backup emails to see WHICH email addresses they are active before they do it. Setting your email as a backup to their own would allow them to try and claim your account in a recovery attempt. They are pretty much looking for someone to goof up once and authorize them- from there, they can run a script to delink you from your Google account almost instantly, and then it's gone (to them). Although it doesn't feel like a great option, you can setup a Gmail filter to move them from the inbox and mark them as read so they stay out of sight.
