has anyone completed the google cybersecurity certificate?
I completed a Meta certificate on Coursera a couple months ago and they had the same thing, a job board available for students who completed the cert. I found that their job board had many jobs that weren’t available on other job websites that I searched through so I’m sure that the Google job board will be similar. More on reddit.com
Am I wasting time doing the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate, instead of just the S+ or A+?
Frankly you are wasting time trying to get into cyber security in general, they typically don't want juniors at all and the roles you can get will basically be a log monkey with no upward mobility. I suggest focusing on the CCNA since its the most useful junior level cert that is universally recognized. More on reddit.com
Is a google certification in Cybersecurity worth it.
to get a job no, to get a beginners hands on foundational knowledge in cyber, its great. You could likely finish it in under a month easily as its not meant to be hard. Although, if you have already done classes like networking, scripting, or operating systems, this might feel way to easy. Its a decent intro. If you want to learn cyber fundamental from the perspective of a computer scientist/programmer, I recommend reading "Alice and Bob learn Application security.". The book teaches all of the same cyber fundamentals, but in a very dev friendly way. More on reddit.com

Anyone who's reading this thread asking questions, this cert is essentially the equivalent of the Security+ (without the actual cert. I'd recommend getting the actual cert after since you likely know the material anyways). Take that as you will for how valuable Sec+ is for a career, there is PLENTY of that information here and the rest of online.
