May 30, 2023 -
Hello I'm close to finishing the google cybersecurity certificate and on the website I was told they give exclusive access to job searching website that they also have companies that are committed to hiring people with the certificate. I'm looking to see if anyone has seen this and how good is it.

I completed a Meta certificate on Coursera a couple months ago and they had the same thing, a job board available for students who completed the cert. I found that their job board had many jobs that weren’t available on other job websites that I searched through so I’m sure that the Google job board will be similar.

Anyone who's reading this thread asking questions, this cert is essentially the equivalent of the Security+ (without the actual cert. I'd recommend getting the actual cert after since you likely know the material anyways). Take that as you will for how valuable Sec+ is for a career, there is PLENTY of that information here and the rest of online.

Not the definitive source, but a pretty easy source to query: Linkedin. A few certs as reference points, all in "United States:" * CISSP: 33,675 hits * Security+: 72,822 hits * CCSP: 1,674 hits * "Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer" (with quotes): 0 hits * Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer (without quotes): 219... 156 were just hits on Google itself Compare that to Azure... *"Azure Administrator Associate" (with quotes): 257 hits... 0 of which were Microsoft or Microsoft Azure. *"Azure Security Engineer Associate" (with quotes): 0 hits *Azure Security Engineer Associate (without quotes): 1004 hits Or, in summary: It's not in demand. If you have a specific job that wants it (including your own for internal career advancement), or its just a fun professional goal, go for it, but otherwise it's probably a pass.

From my experience there is nothing you can obtain from Coursera that is "in demand".
