Google Display Ads No Conversions

Either conversion tracking is not setup properly (probably) or he is tracking conversions in Google Analytics (probably not). Check to see if he even has any conversions created in the Google Ads account under Setup. Check Google Analytics for any conversions.

Is the Display Network absolute pure rubbish?
In my opinion, it's been trash at least since they removed the ability to exclude all mobile apps with one setting. Since then, even if I remove all 140-something app categories, I still get mobile app trash showing up in the placement reports which is never quality traffic. And I've never seen good results from any of their interest based or in-market audiences. Their criteria for determining who fits into those sucks; just terrible CTRs and junk traffic. IF I were to ever run a regular display campaign again, I'd stick to keyword targeting or topics or manual placements. More on reddit.com

r/PPC on Reddit: What's the deal with google display ads?
November 12, 2024 -

Hey I'm fairly new to advertising and I've started with both search ads & display ads. Are display ads even worth it? (It's for a realtor business btw)

I've tried to exclude loads of apps, games and irrelevant topics but when I view where the traffic is coming from it doesn't instill me with confidence. For example, a lot of low quality websites, even in foreign languages. They also appear to have higher click rates e.g double digit - which from my understanding is quite high for display ads. This makes me believe a lot of these clicks are fake or accidental.

I've tried a few fixes people have suggested online, it's getting better but I'm still getting many bad clicks which drain my budget. I'm thinking I might literally have to get a list of 100's of websites to specifically place the ads on.

Anybody have any advice? Similar problems?

Thanks :)

The Top Performing Google Display Ad Sizes in 2025
3 weeks ago - This ad size gives advertisers more ad inventory making it ideal for display ads. It performs well in text content or at the end of articles. Often the Leaderboard is the first banner ad to load at the top of the page above content. And in that position ‘above the fold’, it’ll increase the likelihood that it’ll be seen and clicked. The large skyscraper is known as a half-page ad for a reason. It takes up a huge amount of space on the page, which makes it very prominent. Google claims the Half page banner is one of the fastest growing ad sizes in impressions and ad spaces.

For starters, make sure text doesn’t cover more than 20% of your image and make sure your ad does not have a white background, as it will blend into the website it is displayed on. Ideally, your ad should use a crisp image that keeps your product in focus, without large CTAs or buttons that distract from the core message. Google restricts the maximum file size to 150 kb, regardless of image dimensions.
