As the title says, I'm looking to make an entire folder on my Google Drive available offline. I'm seeing a bunch of websites and even Reddit posts from around February saying this feature recently became available using the built in files app (for example this article), but the "available offline" option isn't shown when I right click the file on my machine. I'm using a Pixelbook on the stable channel, version 76. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

You need to be online to your internet to enable offline access to Google Drive's folders and files. Without the internet, the Drive will not load, plus any online only file is greyed out in the Chromebook's File app to indicate no access! Get on the internet: to In the File app, on your left column, at the bottom for "Google Drive", then click on "My Drive". I select my choice by holding the ALT key with a single tap (touchpad/ mouse, or touchscreen) on the folder or file icon. This single tap opens a menu, not the file or folder. Click to checkmark "Available offline". Next time you are offline, it will not be greyed out because it is available offline. ---- The Slightly Sour Notes: Sync is one way from Google drive down to the offline item. You must manually upload (copy/paste/ save as) to get offline changes up into Google Drive itself. Make a good habit now. ---- The Balance of Good The Google Suite has more features than the Android versions . I do not have these Android apps on my Chromebook.
