Now that Hangout is closed, is there a way to use a computer to make and receive Google Fi calls and messages from a computer? Since I work from a computer this was a great convenience.

Edit: I am not an Android user.

Hello! I recently got a laptop with a built in GSM modem. I plugged my data only SIM into the slot and Windows shows Google Fi, 5 bars but also shows No Service. I tried APN h2g2 and h2g2-t but neither had an impact. Has anyone done this before? Laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580.
