Hi all,

I have a question about bill protection on the flexible plan. Yesterday I added someone to my service to make it a group plan. My current billing cycle ends in 4 days, and after that it will change to the unlimited plus plan. I noticed that my bill protection changed from 6gb to 10gb. I personally have used 9gb of data already, as I wasn’t aware of this change. The other user has used 0gb, and has paused the service until we change to the unlimited plan. Is there any way to bring the bill protection down from 10gb back to 6gb, as I am the only active user on the billing cycle? Or have I just shot myself in the foot with this one? Thanks.

Why would you want to change it?

Only way to get it back down to 6GB would be to go back to the individual plan. Otherwise Bill Protection is set to 10GB for 2 people as long as that second person is active on the plan.

You pay only for the first 6GB data so $60 and then the data is free. Of course, you pay the per line price in addition to the data cost. So for 1 line, if you go above 6GB, you pay $80 and still get high speed data up to 15GB. After that it’s throttled.

Pay $20 for calls/texts and $10 for each 1 GB data till 6 GB ($60) where no charges occur till 15 GB where it is slowed to a crawl. After 15 GB you can return to $10/GB again. So max you'll pay is $80 + tax, Flexible is good for light data users and travelers, otherwise look into Simply for domestic or Unlimited Plus for travel. Prepay calls/texts and post pay data. If below 6 GB you get back what you didn't use within the 1 GB increments.
