How do I get the new home app
I got an email from Google Nest today that says: The new Google Home app Now available for everyone. Pin your most used devices to your Favorites tab, see your Nest camera live streams and video history more easily, create new home automations, and more. I checked and I am still on the old version, and there is no update available for it in the Play Store. More on reddit.com

July 22, 2025 - Google Home by a mile is the worse. It’s web based so if your internet sucks, it’s really unstable. HomeKit is rock solid if the home product is top notch like Hue and IKEA. Once it’s provisioned inside HomeKit it’s purely local network. It does mean you need a HomePod or Apple TV.
