B2B SaaS Google Ads: What Images Work Best? Screenshots Allowed?
Honestly don’t need to reinvent the wheel here. Stay away from anything super text heavy, I don’t think I’ve ever needed to use any images with lots of text, Just something that can show a little bit about what your product is or business is. Make it eye catching - the main function of an image extension is to simply draw attention and take up more space on the SERP. More on reddit.com

What kind of results have you guys had from Google Ads image extensions, both dynamic and standard?
It has increased CTRs and CR% modestly in most cases where we've implemented it for our clients. Obviously image choice makes a huge difference. And, importantly, these generally only run on mobile devices right now. Lastly, as with all new Google features, you will have a competitive advantage initially which goes away once everybody implements it. So you may see a noticeable improvement initially which decreases over time. In terms of dynamic image extensions, Google probably won't "screw-up" large unless you have a ton of irrelevant images on your site. Over time Google will automatically figure out which images are working best and optimize for those. https://www.tenthousandfootview.com/how-to-implement-image-extensions/ More on reddit.com

r/PPC on Reddit: What kind of results have you guys had from Google Ads image extensions, both dynamic and standard?
August 14, 2021 -

I run a company that sells highly visual products, so I'm thinking that these could give our PPC ad campaigns a nice CTR boost. Obviously the only way to know what will happen in my unique case is to simply test them out, but that said, I am curious what your experience has been with them, both in terms of CTR, and conversion rates?

Re dynamic images, my biggest concern is: Maybe Google will screw up and add some shit images from the websites. Another concern of mine is: The images could cause user expectations to be violated, which might actually increase the bounce rate. For example, say the ad drives traffic to a collection page for a group of products. The image might be one specific product. The user clicks on the image, expecting it to take them to that specific product page, but it sends them to the collection page in general, and they're like "WTF, this isn't what I wanted to click on..." Just a couple of the concerns I have about the dynamic image extension approach in particular.

Ad extensions including app extensions, call extensions, callout extensions, message extensions, price extensions, review extensions and sitelinks are only the ones that are supported through scripts. On the other hand, I can reach out to the rest of the team and communicate a feature request on your behalf in this regard. However, please be informed that all requests are subject for consideration and are not guaranteed to be supported anytime soon in the Google Ads Scripts. Please do note also that image extensions are in beta and may not be available to all Google Ads users so this might not be feasible via scripts at the moment.

Google Ads Image Extensions: A Visual Upgrade For Search Ads - Store Growers
April 1, 2023 - Like other extensions in Google Ads, image extensions provide potential customers with additional information. They give a visual preview of your product before they even click on your ad. This way, they can make sure that what you are offering is relevant to them. It’s a win-win since it’s easier for customers to find the products they want and it helps advertisers cut down on the number of irrelevant clicks. Take these two ads for example...

Image extensions on Google Ads – are they relevant for B2B?
April 22, 2025 - The Chapman Worth image extension is great – it conveys a lot about the team and their office environment. From the image alone I get the idea that this is an approachable, modern, professional firm. The ad copy ties in with the image. Nice job. The Strata image is, for me, an example of what NOT to do with an image extension.
