Once granted access it then automatically begins taking your entire personal photo library and associated data and backing it up onto Google’s servers for them to scrape data from.

if the patched app still works for you, you don't have to update it keep it on auto update on the play store? with the GmsCore support patch, this will not be recognized by the google play store and will not be updated. you'll be the one to update it yourself using revanced manager see the patches for it: https://revanced.app/patches?pkg=com.google.android.apps.photos More on reddit.com

I see all these WhatsApp options unchecked. Just looked through my friends' phones as well and they all had the same thing. I always thought WhatsApp had its own chat and photo backup system that I've always used. First time seeing this in Photos app, also because it's the first time I'm meddling in Photos app settings. What is the difference between backing WhatsApp from here and from WhatsApp directly? Are they two different things? Do I need to enable all these in order for WhatsApp to save everything? Have I been doing it all wrong for the past 10 years?
