UPDATE: Shipped old phone on 8/27 (Sat). New phone arrived on 9/2 (Thur). 5-day turnaround. The email said refurb but it looks brand new.

I bought a new P3 from eBay seller, "your-best-store", for $169 in 4/2021.

Last week, I noticed that the phone was no longer flushed in the case. Upon visual inspection, the back case was bulging because of swollen battery.

I entered the IMEI in google warranty site but warranty expired in 4/2022. I contacted the live chat and provided all the information including several pictures and ebay invoice 2 days ago. CSR escalated it to a specialist.

This morning, I received a surprising email saying that Google will replace it. If you are in a similar situation with an out of warranty phone bought from eBay, you may be in luck for a (prob. refurbished) replacement.

seller claimed the only issues were frp lock and shattered back, i cant complain much since it was cheap and the phone still "works", but that battery is a fire hazard and i am replacing it asap

I've found a sealed P8P I'd like to buy. The seller seems legit, accepts returns, has 52 100% positive reviews, phone has Google 2 years warranty and I've checked the IMEI which is clean. Is there anything else I should look out for? eBay/FB marketplace seems like my only option to get a good price below retail in the UK.

I want to use GrapheneOS. My budget allows me to buy pixel6 from ebay. They have few carrier options like AT&T, unlocked. I need an unlocked phone but I don't know if this phone would be bootloader unlocked i.e. I don't know if they mean just carrier unlock or both.
