September 11, 2025Anyone still using a Pixel 5 (or older)?
I'm still using the 5. Working fine except the battery has become noticeably weaker this year. And it's running just a bit slower. And it no longer gets security updates of course. The size and weight of this thing is perfect though. But I think this is the year I'll upgrade -- to the 10. More on reddit.com

The Pixel 5 lost support in October of 2023. This means the phone will no longer receive OS updates or security patches. It looks like Google pushed out the last security patch in February of 2024. Using a phone that doesn't receive security updates can make it more susceptible to security threats like hacking attempts and malware. This is because security updates fix vulnerabilities in a phone's software, and without them, hackers can exploit those vulnerabilities. May 27, 2022 - Replacement for my suddenly obsolete Samsung J7 (thanks FCC!). Wanted a smaller phone than all of the other 5G new models and the Pixel 5 was perfectly sized. Shipped fast, fair price, works fine, no scuffs, marks or cracks, basically brand new except for outer packaging. Battery charging was wonky at first, but must have a learning mode, now it's great. Charges fast and battery life is a couple of days for me. I have some issues with the Google apps, but not really hardware or phone related.
