The Pixel 5 Pro is Not Happening, But Tech "Journalists" Don't Care
Looking for a phone around $100 so far the best I've found is the pixel 5
Unfortunately, my beautiful panda baby, my Pixel 2XL is about to die. I see it. The screen is cracked, I can barely charge it unless propped in the right position. It's battery life is abysmal. But damn, I loved it.
I'm a $200 phone man. And I upgrade slowly. If the phone works, I'll still use it. So looking at the field of Pixels before me, with the 8 about to come out, I went with the 5.
Yeah it might not have the best camera or the fastest chip, but it does have a fingerprint reader on the back and is a similar size to the pixel 2XL. It has a Snapdragon chip and modem, a rubbery grip and a 90hz OLED. Also it has Android 11 and free photo uploads for life. Plus it's brand new for $150.
I can't imagine a better replacement.
Maybe in a few years or so, I'll pick up an 8, but for now I'm happy with my purchase.
