If you wait 2-4 weeks there will probably be a bunch of 7 and 7 pro phones in good shape in the private resale market due to the pixel 8 launch and a bunch of people upgrading. Let me say this about my 7 pro. I had it since launch. I also had a pixel 4 XL. And my 7 pro battery life is worse than my 4 XL was when I stopped using it after a couple years. But--at least my 7 pro--also has other frustrations. The cellular reliability isn't good. I will have periods where the phone indicates it has a data connection but no data comes through. I've compared side-by-side with other phones on the same provider and network and they don't have issues. Additionally, it's much easier for my 7 pro to lose cellular signal than other phones, and it takes longer to re-connect cellular after it loses signal. And lastly, my 7 pro has thermal challenges under conditions that none of my other phones have had (aside from a 6 pro I used for a short period). The screen will dim very quickly when using it in sunlight. Even in relatively cool weather conditions, like upper 60s and low 70s F. I played pokemon go with my kid for 15 minutes and the phone got so hot it showed the thermal limitation warning. One weekend we went to an outdoor wedding along the coast, and it was also relatively cool weather and when I was taking a very reasonable amount of photos and videos--not constant recording mind you--the phone dimmed to the point of not being able to see much, and then I got the "video quality may be reduced due to temperature" warning. Overall the battery life, cellular, and thermal limitations have made the 7 pro a very frustrating experience--these are things that the 7 could also exhibit; nothing specific to the pro. I don't think a refurb pixel 7 is worth $390 and I don't think a refurb $517 is worth it for a 7 pro. One thing to keep in mind is if it's refurbished, google won't recognize the warranty valid anymore. On the other hand in the USA it only has a 12 month warranty so it may not even be a factor of consideration. So those are my thoughts. More on reddit.com

That's how all OEM do device swaps, Apple included. All warranty exchanges are refurbished, and since they are fixed and screened by the OEM they are fine. Also your device isn't brand new anymore so why would they give you a brand new one? Yours is used. People would just always get their device swapped just before 1 year for a brand new one if they gave new. More on reddit.com
