Personal account can be done in few hours but be warned that a new personal account (registered after 2023) will get new hellish test requirement of having to find 12 testers testing your app for at least 14 consecutive days. Or else fail the submission and having to restart the 14 days period. This nightmare has been documented everywhere. Like: https://www.reddit.com/r/androiddev/comments/1kjvmva/my_app_got_rejected_because_i_dont_have_12_fking/ And forget making the ghost accounts or use the simulator to meet 12 tester quota, they will know and reject the submission. So if you plan to release more apps in the long run, or not too difficult in/or have enough commitment to found a company, could try the organization route. (pretty sure organization account is excluded from this tester requirement, need confirmation) More on reddit.com

Not sure that having a free or cheap customer support phone account should be a barrier. My listed number costs me only $3 a month. And I never get customer support calls just a few spam calls and text messages. My customers contact me via email which I make easy by have a contact form under my help section in my apps. Until I did that I would get "app doesn't work" emails without telling me which app. The form includes that important info so I can be efficient in replying. More on reddit.com

My favorite part about this is there are apparently no google employees who can clarify or even talk about this. They have zero community interaction and no presence anywhere. I want to register for a Google Play developer account. My goal is to publish a game I've developed under an LLC name. I'm the only member of the LLC. What's the advice of this sub - register as a personal account or an organization?

I already have D-U-N-S number, so I was inclined to register as an organization. And then I saw the requirement for a public contact phone number listed on Google Play for organizations. I don't have a separate business phone number (nor do I really want to get one), and I don't want to give out my personal phone number.
I see that even if I register as a personal account I can also specify a "developer name" which I presume would allows me to show my LLC name on Google Play, but Google also says
Google will display your legal name, your country (as per your legal address), and developer email address on Google Play. If you decide to monetize on Google Play then Google will display your full address.
So even if I go the personal route I'll still have my full legal name and full address displayed, just not the phone number, I guess.
Here's what I wondering...
What's the general advice for a single-member LLC registering as a developer on Google Play - personal or organization?
Are there any downsides to registering a personal account while doing business as an single-member LLC (legal concerns, US tax concerns, etc.)?

I would say going forward LLC/Ltd is the only viable way for publishing on Google Play. Google Play became very anti indie with recent changes and requirements.
