How long do refunds take?
Generally speaking, Google Play should render its decision within 24 hours and have your refund out to you within four business days. For unrecognized (fraudulent) purchases, it may take longer.
How do I contact Google's support team for help with a refund?
Head to this link to view the Google support page for Play Store refunds. At the bottom of the page, there is an option to contact Google directly. Tap it, and tell Google the reason you’re contacting them. Keep entering information and tapping the Next step button until you get to the end, where you can initiate a chat or email with Google.
How long after purchase can I ask for a refund?
For apps and games, you can get a direct refund in the Play Store within two hours of purchase. You can fill out a form up to 48 hours after purchase.
For books, TV shows, and movies, it’s seven days for most countries and up to 14 days for select countries. However, defective content can be refunded up to 65 days after purchase.
For audiobooks, all sales are final except in South Korea, where you get a seven-day window as long as you haven’t listened to the audiobook.

Bought something through an app that didn’t work as expected.
I requested a refund within 1 hour of purchase — well within their official refund window.
It’s now been 5 days, and all I’ve gotten is a circus:
→ Google Play denied the refund, told me to contact the developer
→ Developer said Google handles all refunds
→ Went back to Google with proof, and now they say “contact your bank” if the payment already went through
I haven’t even gone to the bank yet — I’m just exhausted from being passed around like a refund football.
I followed all the right steps, even stayed in the time limit, and they’re still not helping.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Is this how Google Play handles refunds now?

As you see it says the amount has been refunded but it is not yet reflected on my debit card.
Granted its only been two days. Should I wait longer?
Thank you
I need help please. I recently tried a free trial on an editing app and forgot about it so then I was charged. I reached out to the app's email but they won't reply to me. I also requested a refund with Google Play an hour later that I was charged with a reason of 'accidental purchase' or something like that. I was left with this. I also contacted google play support and reported 'unauthorized transaction' and they said it is currently under review. Am I doomed? I need help 😭
Also, I don't understand google play's policy at all. In their policy states something that you are responsible for your account but then why would they put the 'accidental purchase' option? I'm literally shitting my pants rn I need the money back.
