I pulled an older Acer B1-730 tablet out of storage for a wall clock project. I reset it, logged into my Google account successfully. But the Google Play app (build 4.9.13) keeps reporting " error no connection" as a notification at the top of the screen when I try to install any app. Which makes me think KitKat is no longer supported at the app store. However, this wiki page says otherwise. Am I missing something?
As mentioned I reset the tablet and re-logged into my Google account. I can read my Gmail on the tablet so I know I have access to the Google account.
Is this a lost cause? If yes too bad since the battery is still very good and the interface is quite snappy since it is doing nothing taxing.
Bonus Question: Can I uninstall all the janky apps Acer installed? The option to uninstall does not exist for many of the apps. I can only disable.
