I’ve just moved to Android and Graphene on a Pixel 7 after years on iPhone, but I’m struggling with how I should set things up with different profiles and which should have Play Services or whether I even need it. Total noob to Android & not sure whether I even need to create a Google account (real or fake) or use Aurora Store now it’s pool of accounts apparently no longer works. I’m wanting a few profiles (banking & NHS app for prescriptions, social media, etc) but not sure which if any need Play Services or why?

Well, you jumped ship and bit the bullet hard...kudos. You're gonna need Google Play Services for automatic app updates, running any banking apps, probably for Google Maps, and ANY OTHER APP that actually requires it. It's part of the Google/ Google Play ecosystem. Graphene sandboxes Google Play Services. You can search and tweak with open source stuff all day long, but you'll probably end up needing it running. I did.
