I'm at a total loss. Went to sleep and my phone was fine and on the charger. Woke up and I keep getting the popup of "Google Play Services Keeps Stopping," and none of my google applications work. Things I've tried:
Restarting the phone
Restarting the phone in safe mode
Wiping the Play Services cache
Force stopping the Play Services
Disabling the Play Services then trying to open the app store to force an update
Checking my phone for software updates (none found)
I have a Galaxy S22 Ultra with T-Mobile in the US. I'm running no custom firmware, just Nova Launcher. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
This morning I've encountered a very odd problem with my Pixel 7 and I desperately need some help.
Last night my phone was working perfectly fine, no issues whatsoever. However when I woke up this morning I noticed I had zero notifications on my home screen, which is a bit odd, then once I opened my phone I keep getting an error popping up on my screen saying "Google Play services keeps stopping" and I am unable to open any app. They will open for a second and then immediately close.
I tried restarting my phone and that didn't fix the problem. I looked it up online and I saw that some people suggested deleting the cache and storage for Google Play Services. I was able to do both but still no changes (I'm also unable to delete the storage a second time, it just takes me to a black screen). I then tried disabling Google Play services and that "fixed" the issue by letting me back into apps but as I'm sure some of you are aware, that sorta fucks up the phone and when I enabled it it went right back to erroring and not letting anything open. I'm also unable to go to the google play store and check for updates or do anything there because the app immediately closes once I try and open it.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I haven't been able to find many fixes for this issue so I can see a factory reset may be in order, but if I could avoid that, that would be preferred. Thank you.
Also if this isn't the place to post an issue like this, please direct me to where I could get some help.

Recently my Google play store has this odd issue where when I open it directly, it will show the front page but the small app icons will become very large, then the app will subsequently close. I can enter the books section and the books are displayed normally, but the games and apps section will cause Google play to close. I can enter Google play to update apps when there is a notification to do so, but I can't download anything new other than using google play from pc. I've tried restarting the phone, clearing cache and memory for Google play store and services (I can't reset to factory settings for some reason) and it still doesn't work.
I can't add an image due to restrictions unfortunately.
I have a Xiaomi Redmi S2 (i know i need an upgrade) and i keep getting Google Play Services keeps stopping popup, sometimes other apps too like security and app vault, ect.
The popups come so quickly and so many of them that im literally unable to do anything at all because my screen constantly has the pop up showing.
I had this issue before but not so severe (i even made a post about it not too long ago), restarting allowed me to get a minute or two of time before it started again. It went away on its own and now its back and even more vicious.
For the record i can not uninstall Google Play Services, nor can i uninstall its updates and no i can't update it either. I also can't even disable it as the disable button is greyed out and can't be pressed, but even if i could i cant because as i said i literally am unable to do anything at all.
This problem started after a factory reset. What can i do?
EDIT: I tried to boot into safe mode, but literally nothing changed
I don't know how it started but a few hours ago I got the notification "Google Play Services keeps stopping" With the same issue happening to the Samsung Account app. Any google related apps like Chrome or Playstore keep crashing every time I opened them, with the same issue occuring to games where I downloaded from the Playstore and have Gmail logged into. Things that are logged in using my phone number don't have the same issue, alongside that, an alternative browser I have on my phone works perfectly fine, even with my gmail logged into it. One of the solutions I found was to clear the cache and data from Google Play Services through Settings --> Apps --> Google Play Services --> Clear Cache --> Manage Data and then delete. But every time I try to access Manage Data it always boots me back to the App Info screen. Is this a virus? Should I try visiting a repair shop?
Additional notes: This only affects my phone, Google in general works perfectly well in my laptop (Not sure if this is relevant, disregard if it isn't)
It's been over 5 years. Has anyone been able to fix this? Or would Google do anything about it at this point, especially since it's obviously a known issue?
This keeps popping up on my phone and gives me the option to close the app or get more info. I've tried turning off notifications for this app and it's still off. I've tried doing a force stop but the option is grayed out. I have no idea why it's doing this. I did try turning my phone off and on twice. It's the first thing that pops up once I've unlocked my phone after the restart. I just don't know what to do. It'll keep reappearing every 6 seconds and I have to tap somewhere on the screen to make it go away. Any advice? I'll also add that eventually it stops but then starts back up again. Specifically when I haven't been using my phone for a while. I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 if that helps.
How do I solve this. The notification keeps popping up. My settings wont allow me to force stop or disable the app and clearing the catch for an help either. I tried restating and turning off my phone as well. Could somebody please help, I'm clueless.
Solution: I had to factory reset my phone. I tried different meathods but unfortunately this was the last resort and it worked incase anybody was wondering
I just got this on mine. Was able to fix it by uninstall the Google Play Services update. Though first I had to deactivate Google Pay and Google Find My Device as a Device Administrator before it let me uninstall the update (gave a small error toast Uninstalling Google Play Services unsuccesful that I didn't notice the first few times I tried to do it.)
Try logging out of your google account in the phone... Then relog back in? If that doesnt work... Factory reset
My device is Rosemary variant 3 (Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S Latin America). I've been using LineageOS with MindTheGapps for the past 3 months. I never updated LineageOS, even though it had some bugs bugging me, as it always failed when installing updates.
Today I decided to go through the process in the update guide and get it working. I installed lineage-21.0-20240605-nightly-rosemary, however, after rebooting, my phone became nearly unusable, as every few seconds a popup lets me know Google Play Services is crashing. I also can't open any Google apps or some other apps too.
I'd be fine with just reinstalling LineageOS, but I can't backup my WhatsApp messages either...

I just had the same issue. I tried installing the latest version off of https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/, but That didn't fix it, so then I went to settings -> storage -> free up space -> apps -> system apps and uninstalled google play services which got automatically replaced with the default version and that seemed to fix it.
Factory reset.
Started getting this message on all my emulator instances on two separate PCs, which are in different locations connected through different networks.
Tried everything, and nothing helps.
Clearing cache, restarting Nox/PC, upgraded Nox to latest version, made new emulator instances and they all have the same message constantly right from the start, before I even do anything. Disabled "find my phone" service which is for some reason enabled.
Tried all Android versions - 5,7,9
Because of this I can't even log into Google account on any new instances too.
Uninstalling Google Play Services updates did work, we'll see if it will keep working.
How to do it:
Go to Tools -> Settings -> Apps&Notifications -> See all X Apps -> Google Play Services -> in the top right corner there should be a menu indicated by 3 dots -> choose Uninstall updates
Hello, I've encountered an issue where Google Play Services keeps on stopping/crashes...It was when after i installed MicroG and libhoudini...Now my waydroid is Unusable for some reason :(
I had the same problem today (just after updating my phone) and eventually found a way to uninstall Google Play Services updates, thanks to the thread in Google Play Help Forum:
I was able to fix the issue today, by uninstalling the Google Play Services updates. Could only do that after making sure 'Find My Phone' was no longer a device administrator. Steps I followed:
- Go to Settings -> Lock screen and security -> Other security settings -> Device Administrators
- Uncheck 'Find My Device'
- Go to Settings -> Apps -> Google Play Services
- Tap the vertical ellipsis (3 vertical dots) at the top right -> Uninstall updates
- Go to Settings -> Apps -> Google Play
- Tap the vertical ellipsis (3 vertical dots) at the top right -> Uninstall updates
- Restart phone. At this point the message "Google Play services keeps stopping" was gone.
- Open one of the Google apps (in my case Google Maps)
- It complains that "Google Play services" is outdated, click the popup to update it again. Problem solved. Really happy to have my phone back ;)
It worked for me (no more error messages, and now I can use again apps such as Google Play Store, Google Maps, etc)
Thank you! I, too, had tried all the other fixes, and I couldn't get this one to work either for a while, until I found the right place to disable "Find my Phone." For me, it was here: Settings --> Biometrics and Security --> Other Security Settings --> Device Admin Apps
I can't even do anything on my phone because the message pops up every 2 seconds no matter what i do. I tried clearing cache, data and force stopping google play services and all the other google apps too, ofcourse i tried restarting my phone, multiple times but nothing seems to work, what should i do?
i have an atouch android tablet that has parental controls (controller by my father, for my sister) and the apps are grey cause they can't open (only a few do) and it gives the message "Google services keeps stopping". i've tried looking on Google but it doesn't really help.
Is this a common problem? I recently switched to lineageos and saw an OTA update. Went ahead and updated. 2 issues occured:
Battery icon in status bar must be set to either "Icon portrait" or "Text". Picking "Circle" makes icon disappear and there is just a gap on status bar where battery icon should be.
I'm getting a few messages of "Google play services keeps stopping" and play store doesn't work (obviously).
I reflashed LOS to the phone (poco x3 nfc) but the bug from first point above is still there. I'm guessing the update introduced the battery icon bug and will be probably patched with the next update.
However, I'm more worried about the google play services. I had the same problem on crdroid - updates broke google play services so I had to reflash the core package. Does that mean I also have to reflash the mindgapps everytime I update the phone?
I have stock CM12/Android 5.0.2 YNG1TAS17L. GPS=v7.5.71
Any possible fixes? Tried clearing cache, uninstalling latest Play Store updates.
