Google Analytics vs Google Search Console Organic Clicks do not Match
Why is my search console url clicks much more than Google analytic sessions?
Can someone explain discrepancy between Search Console Clicks and Google Analytics Session?
A session is when the page loads. So if someone clicked and then immediately left you would have 1 click and 0 sessions.

GA would also report organic clicks from non Google search engines whereas GSC won't.

Hello,
We last last year switched to a new seo vendor.
Trying to really understand how to measure success based on Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
Only issue is these numbers dont match and I am unable to understand the metrics.
For example in Google Analytics we show the exactly the same number of clicks in our city to last year, when we filter by organic.
However in Google Search console we show the clicks have tripled in the last year.
How can these numbers be so different. Is google search console counting ppc? If someone can please answer would be grateful.
Thanks.
There is a vast difference I mean vast, search console url clicks for a month is 11,000 but my analytic sessions is only 20% of this. It is a site developed in HubSpot and we use GTM Is there a problem I should be rectifying?
I run an ecommerce site and was using the Search Console "beta" to compare the first 20 days of January to the first 20 of january the previuos year.
The clicks were substantially different, 1.24k this year and 2.86k last year. (it appears this started early December).
However, I went to Google Analytics, to "organic traffic" and set it to strictly measure "Google". Under "Audience" I found the "users" saw a difference of 2.5k and 3.1k. "Sessions" saw a differencce of 4k and 4.7k.
Now, I understand that search console won't count another click if the same IP clicks back and clicks on your next link that ranks, but this seems like a significant discrepancy. In one scenario, my site is tanking, in the other it's dipped since last year, but not "on fire".
Can someone exlpain what's going on?
