I think the certificate probably means more to people who aren’t familiar with it than those who are. I have done the course but don’t personally list it on my resume. That being said, I do think it’s a fantastic starting point for learning the basics of SQL, but falls well short of teaching sufficient knowledge for working with SQL professionally. For beginners, freeCodeCamp and SQLBolt are solid and genuinely beginner-friendly. Mode SQL tutorials are also great once you know the basics, especially for analysis-style queries. For your use case, focus on SELECTs, JOINs, GROUP BY, window functions, that’ll cover most real work. Certificates don’t matter that much in practice. None, the course is completely beginner oriented. I did data analysis stuff in school but not much technical skills, I didnt need that background at all for it. As someone who has gone through it, Id recommend saving the money and learning on your own unless you are just looking for resume padding. Wide as an ocean deep as a puddle is my impression of it.
