Can anyone get Google Translate working? I try and it will only do one sentence and then stop.
Microphone not working with Google Translate
Do you also find google translate's voice feature awful when translating from English to Ukrainian when in terms of saying complex sentences (not basic / travel related)?

I was playing with my Pixel 6 Pro and trying the translation feature.
When someone speaks to it the translator translates the first sentence they speak and then stops. I can see the audio icon blinking such that I can see it is registering sound but absolutely nothing happens after that first sentence.
I'm probably doing something wrong. Any ideas?
For me, I've used it translating from Japanese to Tagalog (voice feature) and it's so awful as it never translates it properly, sometimes it's not even the correct word at all, the same applies vice versa: EN > JP or JP > EN.
For Akidearest's video, she used google translate from Japanese to English interpreting dialog from anime, and she found it awful as most of the time it results in gibberish. To put it this way, have you used google translate from Ukrainian to English when translating spoken dialog especially if there is BGM from Ukrainian movies to English, is google's results bad?
It gets worse when using this outside in a crowded area as the mic barely picks up the words I'm trying say often resulting in gibberish. In my opinion, never use Google for translating any language as the translations are abysmal and are always literal without considering other factors such as cases, cultural nuances, or slang.
In hindsight, do you understand the results when translated from English to Ukrainian? I mean, if you are a refugee in Poland, knowing someone that is or has interacted with them, do they understand it or notice any grammatical errors when using Google to translate spoken English into Ukrainian?
I am not talking about basic questions or simple conversations, I mean discussing the war itself or asking more advanced or complex questions that require them to provide a long response or an elaborate answer, as well as translating a conversation about them getting a SIM card for Poland, providing housing, humanitarian aid and etc. including the impact it has on their families, does Google translate work well in that type of conversation or does it just end up lost in translation?
