Google introduces new AI virtual try-on feature
June 14, 2023 - We selected people ranging in sizes XXS-4XL representing different skin tones (using the Monk Skin Tone Scale as a guide), body shapes, ethnicities and hair types. Our virtual try-on tool shows tops from brands like Everlane on real models.

5 days ago - The try it on feature on Google and Doppl both use our generative AI technology to help users understand how different outfits will look on them. Doppl is an experimental new app for shoppers to go even deeper with virtual styling, including the ability to try on outfits from personal photos and to create animated videos based on your favorite looks.

Has anyone tested Google's new "Virtual Try on" ? I am interested but can not find it anywhere.
Here is more information about the project: https://tryondiffusion.github.io/ https://arxiv.org/pdf/2306.08276.pdf TryOnDiffusion generates apparel try-on results with a significant body shape and pose modification, while preserving garment details at 1024×1024 resolution (...) Given two images depicting a person and a garment worn by another person, our goal is to generate a visualization of how the garment might look on the input person. A key challenge is to synthesize a photorealistic detail-preserving visualization of the garment, while warping the garment to accommodate a significant body pose and shape change across the subjects. Previous methods either focus on garment detail preservation without effective pose and shape variation, or allow try-on with the desired shape and pose but lack garment details. In this paper, we propose a diffusion-based architecture that unifies two UNets (referred to as Parallel-UNet), which allows us to preserve garment details and warp the garment for significant pose and body change in a single network. The key ideas behind Parallel-UNet include: 1) garment is warped implicitly via a cross attention mechanism, 2) garment warp and person blend happen as part of a unified process as opposed to a sequence of two separate tasks. Experimental results indicate that TryOnDiffusion achieves state-of-the-art performance both qualitatively and quantitatively. More on reddit.com
This new Google "try-on" feature is actually horrifying??
Google tried to holdback LLM out of fear of the chaos it would unleash. Look where it landed them. So no, they are expected to go all-in on all the AI tools. I read the blog post, lingerie and swimwear is not allowed. It auto screens for CSA, adult content and uploading photos of someone other than yourself is against policy. So the bottom line is, be responsible for who has your full length photos. 🤷🏻♀️ More on reddit.com
My girlfriend wants to try vr streetview (google earth, google maps) what's the best app/site to do it.
The best way is Google Earth VR on PCVR. If you do not have a PCVR set up, then probably Fly or EarthQuest, but the ease of use and excellent mechanics of Google Earth VR are the best. Wander is also good and works in multiplayer, but no 3D geometry. It is just street view. More on reddit.com

Google Shopping launches virtual dress try-ons in the US | Fashion Dive
September 6, 2024 - The expansion into the category follows last year’s introduction of virtual try-ons for men’s and women’s tops, plus enhanced algorithms to help shoppers more easily refine their apparel search parameters. Google’s generative AI model manipulates an image of clothing and showcases the item on “a diverse set of real models, ranging in sizes from XXS-XXXL,” per the release.

Building a Virtual Try-On App in React with Google AI Studio | by Ilias Papastratis | Medium
October 11, 2025 - In this article, we’ll walk through the architecture and code of a fully functional Virtual Try-On application. Built with React, TypeScript, and the incredible multimodal capabilities of Google’s Gemini API (specifically the gemini-2.5-flash-image model, also known as “Nano Banana”), this app demonstrates how modern AI can create powerful, real-world user experiences.

June 23, 2023 -
I am talking about this blog post, https://blog.google/products/shopping/ai-virtual-try-on-google-shopping/, where it mentions taking in a user's photo and a model's photo, and then putting the model's clothe on the user.
The blog says that " Starting today, U.S. shoppers can virtually try on women’s tops from brands across Google, including Anthropologie, Everlane, H&M and LOFT. Just tap products with the “Try On” badge on Search and select the model that resonates most with you. "
But I can not find this feature anywhere. Would really appreciate if anyone could share how to use this and talk about how well this works.

As far as I know Google... they will work on it, for sure. Their mighty plan will be to put it into Gmail. After 1 year they will change its name for something new... and after another year project will die. Typical Google.
