Using Free Gmail over Google Workspace
Once your email hits someone's inbox, the biggest hurdle you're trying to overcome is building trust with that person. They've never heard of you before, and you're popping in to ask them for money. Put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself if a gmail account would give you the warm fuzzies about handing over your personal info and banking information. For me, I'd never do business with a stranger reaching out cold from a gmail address. More on reddit.com

Google Workspace 'Free'
Free accounts were only for legacy users. I think they will be shut down soon. Best would be to buy a domain or keep the current one and just pay for it. As you know, nothing is free anymore More on reddit.com

r/coldemail on Reddit: Using Free Gmail over Google Workspace
March 3, 2025 -

Has anyone here actually tried to use free Gmail accounts with very low volume per inbox (max 20) as a substitute to paid Google workspace/business emails? What were your results?

From what I've seen, the main concern is lower sender reputation and deliverability risks, but surely with such low volume, it shouldn't really matter? Definitely very time consuming to setup so many inboxes but worth it if it saves money, and it is a lot of money if you start buying 15-20+ inboxes and domains for all those inboxes as well.

Was actually on the verge of buying domains and business emails to start my campaign this week, but just thought I'd get this clarified before I buy everything up.

Thanks guys!

r/gsuite on Reddit: Google Workspace 'Free'
June 1, 2023 -

Hi all

We have sold the family business and looking to move the remaining accounts from Workspace Standard (paid) to free accounts. I've now seen there is a deadline of 21 August to do this.

We have 2 domains, lots of data in G Photos & Drive etc but don't use anything other than Docs, Gmail, Drive and Photos. No meet, voice etc.

Would we be able to continue using the two domain names (old family business name and new family domain name) with the free tier for personal use if I go down the Workspace 'Free' route?

https://apps.google.com/supportwidget/articlehome?hl=en&article_url=https%3A%2F%2Fsupport.google.com%2Fa%2Fanswer%2F2855120%3Fhl%3Den&assistant_id=generic-unu&product_context=2855120&product_name=UnuFlow&trigger_context=a

" After August 21, 2023, you can no longer identify as a personal user and revert to a no-cost subscription. If you already identified that you use your account for personal use, you don’t need to take any further action at this time. "

How will our data be handled? We have 2TB each through the workspace business standard sub at the minute, we would then drop to 30GB each afterwards, but I hope we wouldn't lose all the data in drive and photos? We have lots of family photos and shared albums created by us. The albums is the primary pain in the backside as we can't afford to have them drop off.

I assume we will be able to then individually pay for increased storage like a regular google user would? eg 1TB, 2TB etc.

Thanks
