How do you set up Google Workspace for new clients?
The screenshot you linked is asking you for the primary admin of the account you are about to create. It doesn't have to be an existing account, just the account you will use to login to the Admin console. Also, Workspace accounts do not need to be email verified since you are verifying the domain ownership via the DNS record they will ask you to add and no services will work until it is verified (Unless you are signing up for the Essentials subscription which is only Drive and calendar i think, that one can be either domain verified or email verified) More on reddit.com

July 23, 2021Setting Up SSO for Google Workspace and Amazon Business (not AWS)
I also had a hell of a time setting this up. Spoiler alert, I'm planning on undoing the SSO now. :/ Once I got it set up, I can no longer access the admin account or use a password for previously set up accounts (like the admin account). So I contacted support and they hung up on me. I called again and talked to someone for 30 minutes and then they hung up on me again. :( If you're gung-ho on setting it up though, I guess use the google documentation and then cross your fingers. Often people don't realize all the work Google does for you in their data centers to ensure that your data is secure and highly available / resilient to infrastructure failure.
There's a great white paper linked below that goes into specific detail about how your data at rest is encrypted on multiple replicated disks to ensure HA, and also is stored in separate backup media as described on page 10:

If you've been tasked with setting up an existing business with a Google Workspace account for email purposes, how do you do that during sign up?
One of the steps is "How you'll sign in". https://i.imgur.com/FSFaYsO.png
It asks for the email address of someone at the domain you're setting up. What if I don't currently have access to one of their email inboxes (since their email is hosted elsewhere currently). But I do have access to their DNS.
Just curious what is best-practice when creating the initial account for their business. In the past, I recall being able to use my own email address, but may be mistaken, since I don't do it very often. Meanwhile, I've signed up for "Google Cloud Partner Advantage" to likely do it via that method, which is likely the way most companies to this for their clients.
