It irritates me that they are releasing new rounds of all the things we've already bought rather than updating the old stuff. I mean I know that's the obvious route for these companies but it's disappointing. A reasonable compromise would be to release a hub that we can connect older stuff to and then connect the hub with other platforms over Matter. For now I'm on a govee purchasing freeze. Don't want to buy anything they haven't released with Matter only to have to replace it in a year and haven't been interested in any of the Matter products they've released so far. Yes I know about homebridge and I think it is great but I prefer to make these connections as direct as possible. And I think it sucks that the community has had to bridge this gap. And that means we are at the mercy of the community members when it comes to continuing to keep their plugins and solutions up-to-date. About to pull the trigger on replacing my govee air purifier with the new Matter purifier from welov or whatever. /rant lol More on reddit.com

If you're going for accent lighting, don't sleep on the Lyra as an alternative. I currently have 4 of these (one in each corner of my office) and they're amazing for accent lighting. I was looking at the Pros because they are a little bit brighter, but the cost and the speaker I'll never use are pretty big turn offs. The Lyra is $99 on amazon vs the $220 for the Pro. We have two of each and HIGHLY recommend the Lyra. Nothing against the other lamp, it just feels cheaper and doesn’t have a remote (only an on/off switch). Both are great but Lyra is MUCH better, even more so if it’s cheaper. More on reddit.com
