Hi, just need a bit of convincing to buy the Immersion kit, just most of the threads on here seem to be peoples problems, seems the slightest reflection or added light seems to throw it off, even the colour of your carpet! Is it really this sensitive, also someone said the colours would always be off on a VA tv panel, which my Sony XJ90 is... i would only be using it to watch movies and gaming, so would want the colours to match the onscreen stuff..

My 75-85 inch tv immersion kit will be here Monday. Is there anything I need to know that maybe isn't in or isn't stressed enough in the instructions?

The instructions are pretty basic and do not leave much out as far as getting up and going. The only advice I have is to not be afraid of trying different mounting positions for the camera - just use temporary methods of securing the camera until you find the option that works best for your situation. The kit will come with orange stick on pads to use when calibrating the camera; however, if your like most of us then there is no way you’d ever stick them to your TV and luckily you do not have to use them because there are plenty of calibration videos on YouTube to help with the process. Don’t be afraid to play around with, brightness, saturation, and white balance to help with color matching. There is also a video on YouTube that demonstrates using a ND filter to improve color matching, and I’ve purchased the filter but haven’t had time to mess with it yet so the jury is still out for me. Finally, there are two modes (full and partial) you can set on the Immersion app. Partial mode matches the different colors on the screen and displays them at the same time; whereas, full mode matches the dominate color and displays a single color behind the TV - just FYI. Bottom line is just play with the app/camera until you achieve the results you want. Oh and just remember that reflected light (lamps, ceiling lights, other LED’s) can and will affect displayed colors if the camera can “see” it, so a dark room is best for viewing.
