I'd like to permanently outline my house with about 200' of LED lights and found the "Govee RGBICWW Outdoor LED Strip Lights" product. These seem more appealing versus the 'puck' design because they appear more seamless (instead of the distinct lights that the pucks give off). Since this is all so new to me, I had some questions;
Does anyone have experience with these to give a recommendation on quality/durability?
My eaves are not continuous so I'm hoping that I can cut these to length, run some type of extension, and solder onto my next run of lights.
Can I keep a wave pattern in sync between the 1st floor and the 2nd floor assuming that their runs are on separate power outlets?
I see reviews on these that claim they're bright. Is there an option to dim them?
Thanks in advance! Since I'm intending for these to be perament, I want to make I fully understand it before investing time & money.
I bought two sets of RGBICWW Outdoor LED Strip Lights and laid them around my garden in front of the house, kind of on the ground. I used a waterproof box for the plug and controller. Everything was fine until an absolute downpour this past weekend. One full set, 3 full strips stopped working properly. They work from power about 15ft, the rest of the first strip and both 32ft extensions stopped or show wrong colors.
Govee is replacing the set because water got in. My question is does anyone have recommendations for waterproofing more? Can I fit in a clear sleeve or tube to add another layer of proofing? Light rains were not an issue but tornado rains were a bit much. They look great in the yard too.
Thanks in advance.
Quick question I have 2 separate sets of the govee outdoor strips pro 98.4 ft each. One for back of my house and one for the front.
I live in northern Massachusetts do you think these lights will, can handle the environment?
I purchased extra clips and waterproof boxes and need clean the soffit. I will need to make 3 corner twists, about how much lightning goes into that twist?
After cleaning the soffits I plan to place the lights on or under the soffit and advice how far out on the soffit like in the middle closer to the house side closer to the edge exterior?
Some of the soffit is over a porch would that change placement vs just soffit running along the house?
I don't know why more people don't use these meaning, are they a bad product or is it just less options for install... I hope they legit and last bc gonna be significant time to put up. Any advice is appreciated.
I should say I'm still trying to find waterproof box for control box.
Also I live on top of a hill so it gets mad windy does that matter for the twists, placement wise...exposure etc.
Additionally I will be screwing in extra tabs along the way. The front of the house strip will go a long the porch up one side and then under soffit all the way to garage where they will then fold for corner and go down one side of the garage. The other one in the back will basically be the same except one place on house where I cross to other soffit I will need cover the lights bc just look weird running a diagnol line of lights to breach the gap so not sure what to get for that and if I can't make it water right bc it will be on my siding should I just make it real weather free so that water and snow and whatever can get out.
The screw that come with the clips are seriously super small I wonder I haven't tested how they will go into the soffit.
Any advice on placement or how keep what safe and or if you guys think they just completely suck bc power box issue be good to know.
I'm really sorry about all the rambling I was hesitant to post on this only because the amount of questions I knew that I had I will say that I measured everything out I feel like I have all the proper material except the waterproof box so any waterproof boxes you recommend and or plug covers be great.
I subscribed the site and I don't see too many people using them I know that doesn't mean they terrible but maybe there is a reason why people aren't using them also my house gets full sun so granted they will be under the soffit but says something that I need to think about thanks again. Haha quick question should have said title billion questions
I installed the Outdoor LED strip lights in an LED channel with a diffuser cover, and I’m really happy with the results. The lights don’t have the cone-shaped look, and the channel with the cover ensures the strips stay securely in place. I mounted them in the corner of the fascia board, angled downward toward the house, to achieve the glowing effect I wanted.
