Just got a new pc with an asus prime 9070xt and wanted to check that everything is running smoothly. What monitoring software does everyone personally use or should I just use the manufacturer one if they have one?
The standard system monitoring software that comes prepackaged with on cosmic is garbage.
It displays CPU, RAM, network and disk.
That's it, so when I am trying to figure out if a game I am running is using my Nvidia card or if it's running using the other card I cannot easily see what it's doing during run time.
Kde system monitoring does this, even windows default system monitoring does this. Yet why in the ever loving hell does the cosmic one not do this.
I'm trying not to vent.
What system monitoring software would any of you recommend for displaying basic information on what my hardware is doing.

Hi I am running a gaming rig with msi b660m-e mobo and inno3d 3060ti graphics card. Is there any software that can help me with finding the temps and other stats of these precious components?
TIA
I want software that I can see just a few temperatures. I did use hardware monitor, but I can’t organize on my other screen while gaming just a few temperatures.I want to be able to select what temps I see.
so basically i’m trying to figure out the best software to have cpu and gpu temps displayed in a corner while playing games like gta, apex, icarus, etc.
You can use Riva Tuner which is included with MSI Afterburner, if you have a Nvidia GPU you can use Nvidia Overlay. Here is a video from JaysTwoCents where he shows how to set up Riva Tuner.
I like argus monitor. It's not free after the demo, but it has a lot of info including GPU memory temperatures and GPU junction as well as letting you control all of your case fans.
Hey guys,
I completed my first ever build a couple days ago and am totally new to PC gaming. I've downloaded HWMonitor, and NZXT CAM software to monitor usage, temps, fan speeds, etc. I'm wondering what the best software is to use to put an overlay on games to show CPU/GPU speeds and temperatures while gaming. I have the FPS overlay enabled in Origin/Steam and that works fine. I enabled the CAM in-game overlay but whenever I activate it, it drops my FPS from 200+ to like 60, so don't really want to use that.
Any other software recommendations?
I just need a software to check my cpu and gpu temps on my laptop. I currently have armoury crate but I don’t trust its capability to read temps. I would prefer a free software as I don’t want to start paying for another subscription. Thank you in advance.
Hey guys, Happy New Year. I would like to know which software for monitoring my gpu you think it's best. I've bought a second-hand rtx 2080 in this crisis of 3080's, a Gainward Phoenix to be specific.
I've been using NZXT CAM lately since it came recommended with my board but I'm looking for something better & more open source that accurately monitors everything & comes with fan & RGB lighting control & ideally a program that as little to no advertising as possible since CAM does seem to also be an advertising portal for some of their products & doesn't require an account just to use it. Can anyone recommend me such a program?
I relatively recently got my first AMD GPU (Sapphire), and until now it's been fine, but am getting crashes on one game. Trying to figure out the culprit. Could be my CPU just as easily.
So I did a browser search for some hardware monitoring software, and came back with Hardware monitor and MSI afterburner. I only have the one monitor, an Intel CPU, and would like to be able to monitor temps and other stats of CPU and GPU while gaming. Could anyone make a recommendation between the two based on my requirements?
Thanks.
Folks - I’m using MSI Afterburner, but that only shows me what’s happening when I game. I have multiple monitors. I’d like to throw it on screen all the time.
My laptop has a Ryzen 7 5800h and a gtx 1650
So im wondering what suggestions people have for a program to monitor the gpu,cpu temps and memory
i currently have AMD adrenalin and Corsairs iCUE which both arent very accurate for everyhing
I semi-recently bought the MSi GTX 760 OC. I see on the box there are a few overclocking/monitoring software, but I just installed drivers via GeForce Experience, so I think I missed out on some good features.
I don't really like MSi Afterburner. Any suggestion for something I can download and keep on a second monitor to keep an eye on the status of my CPU/GPU?
Looking to be able to monitor GPU/CPU temps in-game and would also like for it to have the FPS somewhere small in the top right corner of the screen. suggestions would be welcome, thanks!
I was looking to download some software to monitor how my hardware handles some games. Any recommendations?
One with taskbar support to be able to see the temps easily would be nice too.
