Hi, I contacted their customer support about the same problem. This is what they told me (quote): "Thank you what I was explaining is this with more detail from our CPST I was correct, but this is in more detail. The level indicator on your car seat base may be causing some confusion so I would like to provide you with some information on how that should be read. The level indicator on your base shows that the one area is appropriately reclined for a child 0+ months and that the other area is appropriately reclined for a child 3+ months. Every vehicle will have a natural slope to the vehicle's back seats. Some dip more or less than others. In some vehicles it is not possible to get the car seat base to show in the 3+ months window. That is ok. The call out on the level indicator is to warn parents not to have it in the 3+ months window for any child less than 3 months. The 0+ months means that you can be in the 0+ months window from the time the child is born until they outgrow the seat. There is no benefit to having it in the 3+ months window for a child greater than 3 months. Some babies prefer to sit more upright while others prefer to be reclined. Once your child is greater than 3 months you can opt for any recline position that is comfortable for both you and the child. As long as it is not outside the level indicator window you are good to go." So basically its okay as is. I'm going to set up an appointment w/ the local EMT to certify that this is correct anyways (and it might be worth checking out their amazon page). Hope you figure it out. Good luck! Baby is fine if head goes to the side and slightly forward. It’s only a concern if it is truly chin to chest straight down. They also gain more head/neck control by this point. If your baby is doing chin to chest, I’d suggest getting a local CPST or equivalent to troubleshoot your install. The head support isn’t what’s protecting your baby in the event of a crash.
