To replace the Grohe Talia THM cartridge (part 45882000 or 45888000), first remove the handle and faceplate. Use a cartridge puller or pliers to extract the old cartridge from the valve body inside the wall.

Once I got that, I was able to order all the parts I needed to create a brand new assembly and that fit in perfectly. All told was about $100 in parts.
