Can Grok 2 ingest an image and recreate it?
Grok image generator is garbage.
Grok's image generator ruined; alternatives?
How many images can the free version of Grok 2 generate?
I do alot of volunteer work involving kids (scouts) and I want to post some of activities on social media but I want to deidentify the kids. Can grok 2 ingest images and recreate them? If it can do that then I think changing the kids appearances a bit would be easy for it to do.
Grok image generator is only any good for making shit posts of celebrities. If you try to make anything precise it fails miserably every time. The attached image is the result of: draw a cube with three visible faces, one face has the letter A on it, the second the letter B, and the third the letter C. This is not a one off. Grok can not accurately generate the simplest of requests given hundreds of attempts for things that chatGPT can nail in one try.
Grok switched to a poorer image generator yesterday. What alternatives are there to Grok which you can recommend which provide the same quality Grok used to?
That’s basically what I want to know. I recently started using Grok 2 for free, and according to Grok itself, it can generate as many images as I want. However, I read on Google that the free version only allows up to 4 images per day. I’ve already generated more than 4, so now I’m unsure how many I can actually create.
I’d like to know this so I can better decide what to request without wasting opportunities on things that aren’t worth it. Does anyone have a clear answer?
Over the summer and into the fall I used Grok to generate images and I was amazed. I’m an artist and I admit most of it was for fun to go down image paths that I’d never be able to do myself in the studio. The childish fever dream of Grok 1 was habit forming. Sure, novelty value at first was amazing, but I soon settled into a groove and found it to be a fun tool to push ideas.
As Grok matured it became more realistic and pedestrian in its responses and much less flexible. Grok 2 was fine but I could see a definite shift away from the crazy to the conventional. I used it through the winter often with good results, but now it’s become awful.
Looking at Grok now I have to assume image making is not a priority. Though looking at reddit people keep trying to make porn so there might be an exception there. Anyway now it’s inflexible and creatively next to useless.
Sort of as a PS I used Google’s AI and it was much more fun, not Grok 1 fun, but it’ll do.
