Cort is a pretty well known South Korean manufacturer - they provide white label manufacturing for a ton of brands. They do Fender's acoustics, Ibanez, some of Alvarez, etc. Based on the specs and materials it should be decent, certainly playable.

Guitar snobs make me laugh! This one is a hidden gem! If you want an affordable starter guitar or one to dork around with camping and stuff, don't sleep on the Costco Cort. Considering the price point, this guitar sounds great out of the box. It is made with solid woods, which is more than you can say for many other manufacturers. Without researching it, I can't think of a guitar made from solid wood at this price point. It's comfortable and easy to play. If you want to flex on your friends and colleagues, then fine, buy your Martin, Gibson, etc. Why would you even consider setting up a low-end guitar....nerds! :-) LOL. Are you going to record your next platinum album using it or something? Most acoustic guitars are okay with a quick adjustment to the rod, which you can watch a YouTube video on and do at home.

r/Guitar on Reddit: First time guitar buyer. Steel string bundle from Costco?
February 18, 2015 -
I recently started to play the guitar. I am interested in finally purchasing my own guitar. I narrowed it down to a steel string guitar by [George Washburn from costco] (http://www.costco.ca/George-Washburn-Limited%C2%AE-Acoustic-Guitar-Bundle.product.100133909.html). It comes with a lot of things - picks, stand, strap, tuner, case, replacement strings etc.
Anyone have any recommendations? It's a fairly cheap guitar within my budget so I think its a good deal.
Should I buy steel string or nylon ?
EDIT: I bought an Epiphone Pro 1. It's been a good purchase so far and I love playing it. Thanks for all your help!

DO NOT PURCHASE A NEW GUITAR FROM SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN A MUSIC STORE.. Go to a Guitar Center, Sam Ash, or a mom and pop type music shop. They'll be a helluva lot more knowledgeable about guitars and be able to hook you up with something far superior to "George Washburn" (I'm assuming no affiliation with Washburn Guitars). For around $150 you can get some type of Epiphone, Fender, (or smaller brand from mom and pop shops) that I would promise you is better than this Costco guitar. It may not come with all of the add-ons, but the add-ons are what make me especially weary. If they can give you all of that for $100, they have to cut corners somewhere. Picks can be had for $3 a dozen. A strap maybe $15. A tuner $20. Case (gigbag) ~$30. That's already 2/3 the price. I'd say it's a no go.

Absolutely awful idea. Befriend somebody who plays - even a little - and take him to buy used on craigs. Or buy used guitar from Guitar Center with 30 days money back clause.
