This game has some really cool armor and my favorite passtime is to watch my character dance. Im wondering what is the best female elementalist armor for dancing in your opinions. I think mostly it doesn't matter too much the armor except only the chest piece . I have experemented with some different ones but looking for more outside opinons.

r/GuildWars on Reddit: What's the state of the end game elementalist?
February 20, 2018 -

Just returned after leaving GW for a long time. I left the game before the Elementalist and armor/hp changes to end game monsters.

So, how does the elementalist's DPS fare against mesmer's or necromancer's end game (i'm thinking about HM missions and elite areas)?

December 28, 2025 - Depends a bit on build, but I'd go with something like Tempest's chest and legs for that +10AL when enchanted bonus, and what little HP bonus getting Archmage's hands and boots give. Think I have full Tempest's armor on my ele tho, ohwell.

Was inspired by the earlier thread about Luxon armor, particularly a picture that was shared of a warrior in Elite Luxon armor with the Agent of Balthazar costume helmet. Show off those characters you've worked so hard on and share your opinions on your favorite armor sets!

r/GuildWars on Reddit: Elementalist Builds and Supports
May 3, 2024 -

Hello! Do folks have fun elementalist builds that are not necessarily in the PVX wiki proper? elementalist doesn’t necessarily need to be the bulk of the bar (ie, with emo bonders). I am also interested in learning about possible hero supports for elementalists, because the merc mesmerway is basically just the melee support slapped onto a caster with a few skills changed. I’m not sure myself how to improve the bars for increasing and supporting armor respecting damage, caster capabilities, etc.

Thanks in advance, Im just looking to shake stuff up here and am a little bored of the current hero bars i’m running.

r/GuildWars on Reddit: Fire Magic Elementalists
May 5, 2025 -

My brother decided to join my in coming back to GW1 the other day. He's played as a Fire Magic Elementalist since he first started. I tried getting him to try another type (Air/Earth/Water) but he prefers Fire. Does anyone have any good builds for FM Ele? Any Secondary Profession is fine as well, elites aren't an issue either as I can easily run him to any that he doesn't have.

r/GuildWars on Reddit: Element for Prophecies Elementalist?
November 8, 2023 -

After having been away from the game for...years...a friend of mine recently started playing (specifically he is a warrior/monk in early prophecies), and I find myself wanting to go back to my magely roots and make an Elementalist for old times' sake. I've tried some fire, but the enemy AI running out of my storms and lava fonts leads to all sorts of trouble for me, so I was wanting to spec in one of the other three.

While I'll be playing in prophecies, I do have a decent amount of core skills unlocked from when I played in ancient times, so I could conceivably go for air or earth right away, though I don't have much for water just yet.

Or would I be better served just rolling Mesmer and calling myself a mage that way?

r/GuildWars on Reddit: Elementalist builds
November 15, 2022 -

I have been playing gw1 for a while now (45 hours in total), i am midway through prophecies and i reached the max level. so i am thinking if it is time to maybe optimize my build a little more. i am playing elementalist because well, that is what i main in gw2 and i enjoy it, but here it feels a bit less versatile, i basically only camp fire skills because i have invested everything there and they are the best dps options. and my second profession is warrior but i never use anything from it. i remember people saying that at level 20 i can change it? is that true? and if yes, what would you recommend swapping to? i would like to have a bit more variety if possible. and maybe utilize different stats in my main hand/off hand (now i am playing with staff because i can't find anything better). Also some other stuff i wanted to ask are, once i am done with prophecies missions, is that it? Does this campaign have anything else to offer? I know they also have a hard mode, how does that get activated and is it worth doing? Do i move on to factions next? And as long as i remember i have to make a new character and level up from the beginning there? It can also be a different class that way right?

This is pretty much it. Elementalist excels at putting out damage, when it puts all its points into one attribute. You don't really get the weaving playstyle of GW2. There are some builds that use multiple attributes, but they're mainly for Utility, and rarely used in PvE. Examples such as 12 water, 8 fire for Steam + Glyph of Immolation , anything + Water for Slippery Ground , or anything + Air for Glyph of Swiftness . The good thing is that you usually don't need to pump Energy Storage very high, so you always have the capacity to take a Utility skill without touching your DPS. You can also use secondary skills this way, Necromancer Curses are particularly useful. You will be able to change secondary any time you want, after completing a quest in the desert, so you don't need to worry about what you change it to. I'd recommend Mesmer, and as mentioned earlier, Necromancer. Mesmer gives you energy management and interrupts, but the energy management is usually not necessary as the points in Inspiration will come out of Energy Storage, Necromancer allows you to cast Weaken Armor with any elemental attribute, instead of having to rely on Shell Shock to apply Cracked Armor, which is something you need to take note of for making Elementalist builds. Staff is a great choice as a generalist Elementalist weapon, and usually the best if you want to only use one weapon. You can take wand/focus to get more damage, but you lose the ability to put an Enchanting mod on them. The best thing to do is use both, have a Staff for casting Enchantments, then swap to Wand/Focus to cast damage spells, as well as having a Sword/Shield (later Spear/Shield) for a defensive set when you're under attack, you have 4 weapon sets. After the Prophecies main story you have 4 end-game paths open to you, not including going to Factions. Firstly, you get a set of Quests , a set of difficult quests cleaning up the mess that the final mission doesn't explain, there are 2 Elite Dungeons that you can do, technically you don't need to beat the last mission to do them, but you probably won't have done them before then Tomb of the Primeval Kings and Sorrow's Furnace , there is Hard Mode which can be turned on and off in any outpost which allows you to replay the main story missions at level 20 for an extra title, and activates vanquisher mode in which you need to kill every enemy in a map. Lastly there is the War In Kryta which is a difficult "beyond" story that takes place after the events of Eye of the North. To get to Factions you simply need to complete a quest in Lion's Arch and you can start at mission 3 with your Elementalist, skipping the tutorial section. You can make a new character if you wish, and do the first 2 missions, when you get to The Marketplace, Vizunah Square, or the quest "Mayhem In The Market" you're at the point where you can choose to continue on your new character or go back to the old one, as the story has caught up with istself. In my opinion the best order to play is: Prophecies main story -> attempt Spoiler Quests, Tomb of the Primeval Kings, and Sorrow's Furnace, return later if too difficult -> Go to Factions (then Nightfall, then Eye of the North) -> War in Kryta (then Hearts of the North, then Winds of Change) -> Hard Mode. That said, Winds of Change in Normal Mode is probably harder than Prophecies in Hard Mode, so feel free to jump in and try Hard Mode whenever you feel like trying it.

As you go thru Prophecies, you'll get to the desert, where you'll fight your dopplegaanger and ascend. Once you've done that, you'll unlock quests that add 30 attribute points to your pool, and others that allow you to learn new secondaries. You cna skip the learnign secondaries quests and simply purchase secondaries at this point, on isle of balthazar (you can access this from your world map). Completing the WHOLE prophecies CAMPAIGN will unlock hard mode for you while in prophecies. It will also allow you to access both the Titan Quests (endgame bonus quests) as well as War In Kryta content. You can travel to each of the other campaigns from the moment you get to Lion's Arch. There are quests for factions, nightfall and eye of the north available at that town. Starting a new character in those respective campaigns will allow you to experinece their stories from the beginning, just as you did in prophecies. Or you can just take your existing character across the waves and start their campaigns form the point of their main port towns (Their equivalents of Lion's Arch are Kamadan and Kaineng and Boreal Station)
