Hello, hope your all well. I’m after a bit of help and advice please, any help would be much appreciated. I would like to start by saying I’m very new to PC gaming so please bare with me.

2 days ago I received a custom pre built pc from Scan 3XS, the specs are as follows:

Ryzen 9 5900x

3080 rog strix OC

360mm Capellix AIO

1TB MP600 SSD

2TB MP600 SSD

64GB Dominator platinum RGB Ram @3600mhz

6 x 120 QL fans

4000X RGB case

850 Corsair Gold PSU

Rog strix dark hero viii motherboard

Upon receiving my pc I had issues with the iCue software and was advised by scan to do a clean install. When doing this it erased my custom fan curve profile. I have since been playing around with it for a few hours but wanted to see if my coolant temps were normal for this type of system. At idle I am getting around 36/37 degrees C When gaming I am getting around 42/43 degrees C (coolant temps)

My 360mm rad is front mounted with the fans mounted in front as intake. I have set up 2 custom fan profiles. One for my front intake fans mounted in front of the rad and the second profile for the 3 exhaust fans. On the custom fan curve I have raised the front intake fans 5% faster than the other 3 exhaust fans in my case-all at the same temps. I have 2 exhaust fans at the top of the case and 1 at the back. Is how I’ve set this up ok?

Can anyone share a custom fan curve they use for a similar set up?

Can anyone clarify if my coolant temps are ok in my system?

Any help would be much appreciated.

You should be fine with what you have. You’re fan speeds will probably end up being determined on if you’re gpu is getting hot. Air through the AIO is gaining temp so internal temps will be raised slightly. I always ran my AIO pump max, fans at about 50% and exhaust -10%. So if the gpu was getting warm I’d just bump up speeds matching that offset.

Mid-40s are ok it’s when you hit like 55+ you’ve got a problem since at 60 the pump can fail. I’ve heard ql fans don’t have the best static pressure so try running your fans at 100% while you game and see what the temps are and then dial it back and see how they change.

Hey, just wondering what's a good fan curve for the H150i Elite CAPELLIX XT, cooling a 7800X3D.

The case is a 5000D, 3 front intake, one exhaust in the back and the AIO on top as exhaust.

It's currently set to Balanced but I'd just like something a bit more aggressive when gaming.

I notice with the BF6 Beta that coolant can hit up to 36c pretty quickly and since I always use a headset, louder fans wouldn't bother me.

Usually hovers around 31c when not gaming.

It's difficult to give specific temp vs RPM coordinates because everyone is going to have a different room and case environment. The internal case ambient temp is the minimum possible coolant. +1C to coolant is +1C to CPU temp. It is fairly common for users to see a +7-10C rise when gaming, but most of that will be GPU waste heating up the box rather than a heavy amount of CPU watts outpacing the dissipation rate. In terms of testing fan speed effectiveness, the best way to do it is to set a fixed speed for whatever value you want to try and make a rough comparison to prior marks. Most things in the case are insensitive to small fan speed changes and the coolant temp is one of those things. 150W at the CPU with 1300 rpm on a 360mm would normally be around +6C if it were a straight CPU test. At something like 1800 rpm, you'll only drop another 2C which is not a lot of gain for a rather large change in noise from 1300->1800 rpm. Some in terms of CPU temp on a very efficient 7800X3D, you don't need much speed. The trickier bit is managing the fans to control the GPU waste heat as that affects everything in the case. Faster on the radiator is not always better as it can pull more of the GPU heat through the CPU radiator, warming the coolant and creating a CPU temp penalty. You'd rather it went out the back fan and mesh. Try experimenting with low to moderate fixed speeds at the radiator and then faster speeds on the front and rear. See if you can improve the coolant temp this way without seeing a noticeable increase in GPU temp. Once you get a feel for which speeds work, you can make a noise assessment and then plug it all into a curve for temps. Or do what a lot of people do and simply set fixed speeds at a tolerable noise level prior to starting a long gaming session.

With my i7 13700k and the h150i even the default icue quiet curves are too aggressive. It depends on where your CPU is sitting while gaming. Coolant temps are safe up until around 55C and you'll never hit that unless something is wrong. I set a curve of 27% fan speed on all until coolant hits 35 c, from there it's a gentle curve until around 45 c at about 60%. Up to 100% at 50c. During gaming here in summer the coolant sits at around 38 c while my GPU tops at 70c and CPU tops around 65c. Keeps it nice and quiet. Even under occt tests coolant is around 45c and CPU about 93ish The default icue curves will have your fans ramping to 80-100% around 38 to 40C which is unnecessary.
