Desktop with a 10th gen Intel CPU. MacOS supports that gen's iGPU. A Fenvi T919 PCI wireless/bluetooth card. If you need a dedicated GPU, MacOS natively supports a RX 580. That is the easiest/safest solution and there are more time consuming options for newer gear. I built mine with a Gigabyte Z590i Ultra, i7 11700K, XFX RX 580 8GB, 64 GB of RAM setup as a triple boot system. More on reddit.com
I want to move away from Windows for privacy. Is Hackintosh any better?
Privacy would be similar to a real Mac, except you’d have to re-patch with every new OS version, and expect x86 to become totally unsupported within 5 years. What are your current specs? Do they beat an M1 Mini? With an eGPU? I can do pretty snazzy 4K video editing on a 2015 MBP with 16GB RAM and a discrete GPU. But compared to that, a 2020 MBA flies, especially with an eGPU. And if you’re doing pro editing, the new MBPs will pay for themselves in months. Also, the macOS still calls home to Apple; starting with Big Sur the software firewalls can’t block that either; you’ll need a PiHole. More on reddit.com
I know this is a macOS subreddit, but I'd like to ask: Should I switch to 'Hackintosh' on my PC? I'm primarily asking because of my hardware; I'm tired the Windows bs I've been getting lately
If you're concerned about getting the most out of your existing hardware, Linux would be the best longer-term option to consider. More on reddit.com

Building My $1,200 Hackintosh
December 8, 2016 - Nowadays, the incredibly helpful tinkerers at TonyMacx86.com have basically put together all you need to know to 1) buy the parts, 2) put them together and 3) make it all work. Every few months they put out a hardware build guide that lists the components that are the most compatible and friendly to create a Hackintosh with, and my build follows this guide pretty closely.

Installing macOS or How to Turn Your PC into a Hackintosh / Habr
May 15, 2026 - Your system should not have a dedicated graphics card*. Mac is very picky about everything except integrated Intel UHD graphics (yes, Iris is a no-go). It is possible to get AMD and NVidia graphics cards to work, but it's a huge pain. There were people like that on the Hackintosh Discord server, but I have neither the card itself nor the desire to test it.

Easy to convert, would be most any Intel Gen 3 or higher, even easier if you use a compatible GPU. If you want to know ideal "model" of PC to say start out on and practice with, I've given tutorials to a few kids using an Inspiron 660 and an Optiplex 3010 before. Those are both like what... 12 years old?? And they'll certainly run Monterey and run it well. Probably Ventura as well with the right config. So yeah, if you can think of whatever model of Intel machine produced after that time period that has AT MINIMUM a Core-"i" CPU, you are well on your way. Just follow the Dortania guide and you'll be golden.
