Been wanting to make the switch to Hall effect for a while now. Currently i have a roccat pyro and I absolutely love the volume knob and number pad.
My question comes down to, what is there for HE keyboards that are full sized, OR would it be a good idea to get a 68%/75% keyboard, like the aula or monsgeek, and also get a numberpad macropad?
Place was robbed & my tech gear was stolen some months back. Finally in a spot to replace some things.
Been doing research / watching YouTube vids & looking for a decent Hall Effect board. Most good ones seem to be priced around $200 wondering what good $100 options there are if any.
This KEYDOUS NJ80-CP HE board has a few videos on it & they say it's pretty decent but wondering what the community thinks.
Previously on a Razer BlackWidow 100%.

I’ve compiled a list of full-sized (100%) Hall Effect keyboards with Rapid Trigger, adjustable actuation points, and dynamic keystroke features—perfect for gaming. Full-sized HE keyboards don’t get as many exciting releases as smaller layouts, but here’s what’s available:
Full-Sized (100%) Hall Effect Keyboards
-
Keydous NJ98-CP Pro HE V3 – $149.99 Wireless, hotswappable for both magnetic and regular 3/5-pin mechanical switches. First of its kind! Flexibility makes it a standout.
-
Aula F98X - $109 - 99 keys layout, 4000mah battery, unknown Aula magnetic switches.
-
Wooting Two HE – $194.99 Reliable, but a bit older. Still, one of the best for gaming precision.
-
SteelSeries Apex Pro – $199.99 Good performance, but lacks hotswappability for magnetic switches.
-
Corsair K70 Max – $229.99 Expensive, and you’re locked into their switches.
-
GMMK 3 – $199.99 Keyboard accepts both 5-pin mechanical and Glorious HE magnetic switches. Switches are pretty nice, but it's quite expensive.
-
Keychron Q5 HE QMK – $229 Great build quality, QMK support, 96% layout.
My Top Picks:
-
Best Overall: Keydous NJ98-CP Pro HE V3 for its switch flexibility, brass build and wireless capability.
-
Budget Option: Aula F98X
-
Pure Performance: Wooting Two HE for reliable brand with long warranty.
What’s your favorite full-sized HE keyboard, or are you waiting for more options to drop? Let me know your thoughts!
Im not smart when it comes to keyboards and I want the best bang for my buck for a keyboard that is a 100% Hall Effect silent keyboard. I really want the budget keyboard with these specifications, my budget being at most $90. Also, if it has snap tap that would be cool, but I believe that is asking for too much. Thanks for any and all help!
Like the title says, I'm trying to compare whether hall effect is actually necessary and worth it over regular linear switches. I'm migrating back to PC from PS5 and want to know if HE is worth switching back to MnK for or if I should just stick to controller and get a keyboard for it's typing feel/sound instead.
I want to set a budget of about ~$80 (maybe $100 since black friday might put some $100 boards down to $60-80) and want to get something 75% and wireless. Only thing is, I can't seem to find any decent hall effect boards that are wireless under that price, while I can get a much better wireless non HE keyboard from Keychron, Yunzii, Epomaker/Aula (F75 pro/max), maybe even a Rainy75 for around the same price.
As somebody who only plays games a couple times a week (Bf6, single players, R6, Apex) not really competitively, is there even a point to HE? The rest of my week just consists of long hours of coding/typing and regular web browsing. I get that magnetic switches have a much longer lifespan than traditional switches, but w/ hot swap boards becoming basically the industry standard now compared to 5 years ago I don't see how that's that important.
Is it really as much of a game changer as people say it is or is my money better spent on a solid traditional keyboard?
Hey guys,
I’m on the hunt for a Hall Effect keyboard mainly for competitive gaming. I know Wooting is the go-to pick and everyone swears by it, but I’m kinda looking for something that also has a bit more aesthetic appeal and solid build quality.
Budget’s around 200€.
Any recommendations or hidden gems you’d suggest?
Appreciate the help 🙌
I don’t mind buying from lesser-known brands or AliExpress if they’re reliable.
What’s the best bang-for-buck option out there right now?
Hi all
I've been posting for a bit now, and I see a lot of the brands making Hall Effect keyboards. I get the gaming benefits with rapid trigger and setting actuation points. But besides gaming, why would someone use it for, let's say, filling in Excels, design work, content creation, etc? Would a regular mechanical be worth more?
How is the type, sound and feel of the HE boards in general? I'm used to typing on my old Ducky Shine 3 :D
Cheers!
I am looking for a Hall Effect Keyboard that has the abilities like wooting, but isn't crappy build quality and overpriced like the wootings. I know there are many Hall Effects on the market and many have been tested to be found that they have equal or faster performance than the wooting, but I want to know what are some great keyboards that contend with the wooting but also aren't crappy plastic keyboards.
For an enthusiast, will you feel a subjective / objective improvement in game feel switching from a mechanical gaming keyboard like the Huntsman mini to one with Hall effect like the wooting 80HE?
I want to get a good budget hall-effect keyboard for under $100, what are your guy's recommendations.
Hello
On my desk I'm a bit short on space and when my laptop is not in use I sometimes place it between my screen and my keyboard, with my keyboard overlapping a bit over the keyboard.
My laptop frame is metallic, and I noticed that when move my keyboard a bit, it starts to interfere with the hall effect sensors, and presses random keys, as can be seen in the video. I guess it makes perfect sense after all since moving magnets is how the hall effect works.
But my question is: is it safe? I have no idea what kind of current (and voltages) I generate while moving my keyboard near this surface and I don't want to risk damaging it and/or the sensors.
Can I keep my laptop there? When I'm not moving the keyboard it's working just fine, but the slightest movement and it starts to "press" random keys. It's really not that inconvenient, I'm just worried about damaging my keyboard.
Or should I definitely move my laptop away because I could permanently mess with or damage the sensors ?
Thanks !
Looking for a new keyboard to replace my current 5? year old one. I really like the look and feel of the hall effect switches. I would like atleast a 80%/TKL keyboard, or even a full size. Nothing too fancy, I'm fine with just black and RGB.
Switches: Hall Effect, Linear (With Rapid Trigger / "Snap-Tap")
Size: TKL or Full
Color: Black or Gray with RGB
Brand: No preference
Etc: Wired, would like function buttons, wrist rest would be good bonus
Chatgpt says the ajazz ak820 max is best and all reviews i have seen of it are pretty good its priced nicely aswell. Has anyone used any of these three?
Basically the title...
Ive bought from Keychron in the past, very good keyboards however they dont have a full sized HE Keyboard.
Seems that most 'gaming' keyboard have US ANSI layout which is useless for typing french. Plus almost all of them look cringe all black with waaaay to much RGB.
Can anyone here recommend me one?
Merci à tous!
What do you think about magnetic keyboards?
The main question is, can magnetic keyboards have a place in our hobby?
Nowadays, they are being shouted about from all corners, what it is a great blessing.
Here my story. I got one. I played around with the actuation point setting for about a week. I don't know why and what it gave me. It's just the only new feature for me. And then I returned it to the standard 2.0 mm)
And the most annoying thing is that the keyboard sounds bad, even though it has 3 basic layers of noise insulation. I've heard all magnetic keyboards sound worse than mechanical ones. Is that true? And I can't make many modifications, lay some switch pads, or anything like that, because its affects the accuracy. Also looks like HE keyboards doesnt have gasket mount or flex cuts. I can't replace the switches here. Well, technically it supports hot swap and there are several different magnetic switches on the market and... they are all linear, it's clear why. They all have about the same actuation force. This is incomparable to the number and variety of switches for traditional mechanical keyboards. I even thought if the hot swap socket breaks it's easy to replace, and if the sensor breaks here? Is that all?
And I felt like I was locked up like in a prison with this keyboard. Damn it... I got some cool new silent tactile switches and my first thought was if I had another mechanical keyboard right now instead of this magnetic one I would install these switches there. What do I have now? I played around with adjusting the actuation point and that's all I can do with this keyboard.
So I got the impression that magnetic keyboards are completely unsuitable for our hobby. They are just one-way gaming tools, unlike traditional mechanical keyboards that have room for customization and flexibility.
Share your thoughts, maybe I have the wrong impression.
My budget is 110 dollars. My preferred size is 60%, but i can settle on something bigger if it means i'm getting a better product. I was considering Monsgeek FUN60 Ultra TMR, it's currently on sale for around 85 dollars.
I will mainly use the keyboard for gaming.
Looking for suggestions.
Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my keyboard since mine is a little bit old and clunky. I was wondering if buying a hall effect keyboard would boost my experience. Not looking to go pro or anything but I thought it sounded cool and might make playing feel a little better. I looked into the Varmilo Minilo 75 HE.
Can anyone help? Thanks!
