Animatronics - where to get, how to waterproof
Most of the static props do ok (I have the HD skeletons, pumpkin stacks, inferno and such uncovered). I have put distortions uncovered out (but only the static/ minimal movement). Pumpkin stalker, jack attack and jack widow have made it just fine thru some rain storms. But I do not risk some of the others. Most of the full range animatronics (larger movement) are covered. The biggest problem I have had is wind. Those large guys need to be nailed down. We have cords, spikes, weights, and ties to trees on most. We did bust one prop (weld) due to wind. But overall, they really are nailed down. (Also deters anyone walking off with them). Its a real pain but we do “temporary buildings” that are like small sheds for some of them. (Made to mimic a mausoleum). It just means a bigger put up and take down but keeps the animatronics dry.
